GO Template Settings - in The Bar Right Next To: Well Section Tem'

The document provides instructions for using GO template settings in Petrel to define facies in wells using log data, train a neural network on the defined facies, predict facies in other wells, and quality control the results by creating a cross plot of porosity, permeability, and facies. Key steps include using a brush tool to define shale and sand in some wells, training a supervised neural network on the brushed wells and logs, applying the network to predict facies in other wells, and creating a function window cross plot to quality control facies assignments based on porosity and permeability axes.

GO template settings.

in the bar right next to ‘well section tem’

Remove Useless NTG, also you can push sth up. Color fill or sth.

New discrete log

Use brush to define sand or shale or sth.
New track, new log and set to facies
Brush shale and sand up to you thought (in more than two wells), it is ok you don’t fill all, but you have
to fill some to tell computer some criteria using your own discretion, on which computer will rely, to
further do the classification for the rest.

Thus, here comes neutral net:

Create new facies and tell software you did the brush stuff at these wells and what log that you want to
take into account.

Choose supervised here, coz you want the petrel to behave as you taught. You follow what I have
assigned to do the jobs.
And create a new output tab, go apply.

And if you click new facies [new facies neutral net], you will see the result.

Then we have to do the prediction to other wells using your own-created criteria.
You will see the results in other wells now and remember click off this useless one.

Once you have done this, you need some quality control on the things you have done. So, go to home,
and windows, have a function window here.
Click all wells and set porosity, perm, new facies as your x, y, z.

Go function settings rename the cross plot.

Go axis ranges and change X&Y ranges here, flexibly use logarithmic plot if you need it.

So, you can easily tell shale, fine sand, coarse sand. Based on perm porosity.
