Lesson 4: Combined Variation Content Standard

This document discusses combined variation, which involves both direct and inverse variation between variables. It provides examples of identifying combined variation statements and solving related problems. Learners are expected to understand combined variation, write equations for it using a constant k, and solve problems where an unknown variable is given for one set of values and needed for different values. The document contains sample problems and solutions to demonstrate the application of combined variation.

ENGAGE: WHAT IS A COMBINED VARIABLE?

Combined variation is another physical relationship among variables. This is the kind of variation
that involves both the direct and inverse variations. This relationship among variables will be well
illustrated in the next section and you will have to identify it. Are you ready?
