MODULE 1: COURSE ORIENTATION

LESSON 1: COURSE OVERVIEW

ACTIVITY 1

Read the LDM Course Overview. Reflect on the overview by answering the following
questions. Write down your insights in your Study Notebook.

1. What is the main delivery of this course?

The main delivery of this course is to assist the teachers to construct knowledge of this
new educational approach and give recommendation to adapt these new alternative modes of
delivering learning just to meet the present needs of the students, teachers, and community
regardless of any situation they have especially in what we called “ new normal”.

2. How can this course help ensure that you will be able to deliver quality instruction in the
“new normal”?

This course helps ensure that the teachers will be able to deliver quality instruction in
preparation of the new normal through implementing all the guidelines and methods of teaching
particularly the different Learning Delivery Modalities extended in this course. It provides
lectures and activities from different parts of modules.

3. What are the two support mechanisms that will help you with your learning in this
Course?
The two support mechanisms are the LAC session and the study notebook. The LAC
session is an activity which conducted by the group of teachers in which there is collaboration in
working, solving problem, and learning new concepts together for the implementation of
Learning Delivery Modalities, and study notebook which serves as our compilation of all written
documents from different activities learned from this course.

1. How will my personal characteristics and circumstances affect (positively or


negatively) my participation in this course?

In my participation , there are big impacts in my personal characteristic and


circumtances in dealing this course. It helps me a lot to improve my teaching and learning skills
and gives me enough knowledge on how to implement the different Learning Delivery
Modalities in this new normal. It really changes my negative impression about this new approach
of teaching and learning. I am feeling motivated to do my task this very challenging shool year.

2. How can I ensure that I am able to sustain my strengths and address the obstacles
that will hinder me from completing this course?
My eagerness and determination to learn with the guidance of my instructional coaches
and the collaboration of my collegues will ensure me to sustain my strenght, to overcome the
encounted obstacles and to successfully complete this course.

ACTIVITY 3.

Look for a colleague with whom you would like to discuss your answers and reflections with
to the questions in Activities 1 and 2.

Despite of the global crisis, the Department of education finds ways to equip and
train the teaching forces enable to perform the best performance in the field of teaching and of
coarse to cater the educational needs of the learners regardless of who or where they are by
means of participating in this Learning Delivery Modalities 2 coarse. We felt movitated to
finish this course, even though it is not easy task,but we are looking forward that education
must be delivered to the Filipino learners in the midst of the pandemic.We have two support
mechanism in this coarse which are LAC session where we can learn more ,discuss, solve
problems and work together in preparation of this challenging new normal and the other one is
study notebook, in which we are compliling our written documents in it. Sometime, we have
session online but during the session. There are obstacles along the way like having poor
internet signal because some members are located at the isolated areas. We could not meet
sometimes because of conflict schedules and having our personal chores.

LESSON 2: ORGANIZING YOUR LEARNING ACTION CELL (LAC)


Begin by refreshing your memory on the Learning Action Cell. Read DepEd Order No. 35 s. 2016
titled “The Learning Action Cell as the K to 12 Basic Education Program School Based Continuing
Professional Development Strategy for the Improvement of Teaching and Learning.” Once
you’re done, answer the following questions. Write your responses and any other ideas and
reflections in your Study Notebook.

ACTIVITY 1.
1. Reflect on the objectives for conducting LAC sessions as listed in DO 35, s. 2016.
Rank the following objectives from easiest to the most difficult to achieve:

2. What are the top three challenges to having a successful LAC? List down and
elaborate.
 Personal chores
Aside this coarse, there are things sometimes we consider it important and need to
accomplish right away that can stop us from doing this session.
 Conflict schedule with the colleages
Sometimes we cannot conduct meeting due to the conflict schedules. We cannot deny that we
have different schedules like some are having thier masteral online class.
 Poor signal during teleconference
This factor really hinder our participation during our online session.
