Performance Appraisal at Ashghal Company

Introduction

Ashghal Corporation is a renowned infrastructure, construction, and building Developer

Company based in Qatar. Ashghal has many strategic HR functions such as training and

development, compensation or reward programs, planning, recruiting, re-directing, and

managing personnel. However, this particular task focuses on the performance appraisal which is

mainly evaluation of its employees using a special performance measurement program.

Performance appraisal role or contribution is critical in this regard as behavior, discipline

practices, performance measuring checklists, or key performance criteria are used as important

performance appraisal indicators within the HR department of Ashghal Company. Human

Resource Management plays an integral role in the core performances of its sustainable, business

activities. The major focus of this work is analyzing the major procedures of HR used for the

performance appraisal and evaluating performance management criteria of employees. The

performance appraisals evaluation using best techniques of HRM at Ashghal allows the company

to assess the current performance of the employees and rewarding or compensating employees

employees and providing or delivering commitment service to customers related to infrastructure

or building construction at various sites with immense level of integrity.

Objective and importance of the study

 To assess the important function of Human Resource Management at Ashghal Company

such as performance appraisal

 To analyze the key performance indicator used for measuring performance of employees

within Ashghal Company such as working hours policy with respect flexible attendance,

late attendance covering, analyzing monthly grace period to compensate, bonus or

deduction of monthly salary packages of employees [ CITATION Rot14 \l 1033 ].

 To evaluate the most important performance appraisals measurement tool within Ashghal

Company such as employee of the month initiative or program

 Analyzing the selection committee deployed in this particular program directly related to

performance appraisals and assessing key responsibilities of the committee

Recommendations

 A more flexible framework of performance appraisal as key indicator of Human

Resource Management at Ashghal Company should need to be developed so employees

could identify major areas of improvement for increased performance management

 Secondly, regular training and development sessions need to be arranged by Ashghal

Company for highlighting the important methods or approaches such as enhancing

attendance, improving employee’s rewards or compensation framework, establishing

strong infrastructure affairs programs to optimize the business support activities

 The Human Resource Department of Ashghal Company must provide understandable and

feasible performance appraisal eligibility criteria for all the employees belonging from

various ethnic or social backgrounds on equal terms

 Encouraging the employees to fully comply with key rules, standards, and policies of

HRM practices for coordinated or integrated practices toward efficient planning, re-

directing, organizing, and managing people as well as various prospects of the human

resource personnel

 Developing the integrated performance appraisal standard application such as selection

process for the employee to be reward as best personnel within Ashghal Company in a

manner that HR department is aligned with all major functional units of the company
