Rubric For Essays

The rubric outlines criteria for grading essays in 5 categories: Introduction, Accuracy of Facts, Organization, Focus on Assigned Topic, and Mechanics. Each category is graded on a scale from A+ to F. The highest marks are given for a catchy introduction that clearly states the topic, accurate facts that relate back to the introduction, logical organization, addressing the topic in depth with sources beyond lectures, and few grammar/spelling errors. Lower marks are assigned for weaker introductions, some inaccurate facts, unclear organization, limited topic focus or sources, and multiple mechanics errors.
