1 Problem 1 (Moldova TST 2018)
The sequence (an )n≥1 is dened recursively as a0 = a1 = 1, an+2 = 5an+1 −
an − 1 for all postive integers n. Prove that

an |a2n+1 + an+1 + 1

for any positive integer n.

2 Problem 2 (India IMO Training Camp 2015)

Every cell of a 3 × 3 board is coloured either by red or blue. Find the number
of all colorings in which there are no 2 × 2 squares in which all cells are red.

3 Problem 3 (Romania TST 2014)

Let k be a nonzero natural number and m an odd natural number . Prove that
there exist a natural number n such that the number mn + nm has at least k
distinct prime factors.

4 Problem 4 (Iran TST 2020)

Given an integer k, prove that there exist innite pairs of distinct natural num-
bers such that
n + s(2n) = m + s(2m)
kn + s(n2 ) = km + s(m2 ).

5 Problem 5 (USA TST 2016)

Let ABC be an acute scalene triangle and let P be a point in its interior.
Let A1 , B1 , C1 be projections of P onto triangle sides BC, CA, AB , respec-
tively. Find the locus of points P such that AA1 , BB1 , CC1 are concurrent and
∠P AB + ∠P BC + ∠P CA = 90o .

6 Problem 6 (China TST 2016)

Does there exist two innite positive integer sets S, T , such that any positive
integer n can be uniquely expressed in the form
n = s1 t1 + s2 t2 + ... + sk tk

where k is a positive integer dependent on n, s1 < ... < sk are elements of S ,

t1 , ..., tk are elements of T ?

7 Problem 7 (Vietnam TST 2016)
Let ABC be triangle with circumcircle (O) of xed BC, AB 6= AC and BC not
a diameter. Let I be the incenter of the triangle ABC and D = AI ∩ BC, E =
BI ∩ CA, F = CI ∩ AB . The circle passing through D and tangent to OA
cuts (O) for the second time at G (G 6= A). GE, GF cut (O) also at M, N
respectively.
(a) Let H = BM ∩ CN . Prove that AH goes through a xed point.
(b) Suppose BE, CF cut (O) also at L, K respectively and AH ∩ KL = P . On
EF , take Q for QP = QI . Let J be a point of the circimcircle of triangle IBC
so that IJ ⊥ IQ. Prove that the midpoint of IJ belongs to a xed circle.

8 Problem 8 (APMO 2015/P3)

A sequence of real numbers a0 , a1 , ... is said to be good if the following three
conditions hold.
(i) The value of a0 is a positive integer.
(ii) For each non-negative integer i, we have ai+1 = 2ai + 1 or ai+1 = aia+2i
.
(iii) There exists a positive integer k such that ak = 2014.
Find the smallest positive integer n such that there exists a good sequence
a0 , a1 , ... of real numbers with the property that an = 2014.

9 Problem 9 (IMO Shortlist 2010/C2)

On some planet, there are 2N countries (N ≥ 4). Each country has a ag N
units wide and one unit high composed of N elds of size 1 × 1, each eld being
either yellow or blue. No two countries have the same ag.
We say that a set of N ags is diverse if these ags can be arranged into an
N × N square so that all N elds on its main diagonal will have the same color.
Determine the smallest positive integer M such that among any M distinct
ags, there exist N ags forming a diverse set.

10 Problem 10 (IMO Shortlist 2010/N2)

Find all pairs (m, n) of nonnegative integers for which
m2 + 2 × 3n = m(2n+1 − 1).

11 Problem 11 (IMO Shortlist 2010/A3)

Let x1 , ..., x100 be nonnegative real numbers such that xi + xi+1 + xi+2 ≤ 1 for
all i = 1, ..., 100 (we put x101 = x1 , x102 = x2 ). Find the maximal possible value
of the sum
