This report (pdf file) will include a review of research literature, and report on

progress made so far in your project. You are encouraged to discuss with your
supervisor(s) what detailed information and the structure you would like to put in the
report.
 

Progress report: What should I include?


 Describe the project context, research question, your understanding of the
literature, work done to date
 Contents (in no particular order)
o Progress
 Summarize what was done during the semester
 The progress will vary a lot between
projects. However emphasis should be on
evidence of sustained work of a high
standard to get high marks for this
component. 
o Literature review
 A focus on what you have learnt
 Re-state the research question  - with detail informed
by the review.  
o Plan for the next semester
 A summary of activities for the next semester to
provide an opportunity for feedback from the
supervisor and the second marker.
 Demonstrate that you have thought through the
project in depth
o Finally, work closely with your supervisor(s) as they can guide
you further in terms of what they would like to see
o We do not have a rigid requirement on the format of the report.
However, it is recommended that you write it as a double
column article, please check the following paper as a

external site.). You are expected to write 5-10 pages for the
report.
