The Edelweiss Group is one of India's leading diversified financial services company providing a
broad range of financial products and services to a substantial and diversified client base that
includes corporations, institutions and individuals. Headquartered in Mumbai, Edelweiss's
products and services span multiple asset classes and consumer segments across domestic and
global geographies. Edelweiss was founded in November 1995 by Rashesh Shah and Venkat
Ramaswamy. Its operations started from February 1996. It was a small office with 3 employees
located near Akbarally’s in the Fountain area of Mumbai. Initially, the company worked on
private equity syndication and mergers and acquisitions (M&A) and focused on advisory
services. Rediff.com was among its initial clients. In 2000, the company gained the capital mark
of INR 5 crores and thus became a Category-1 merchant bank.

Rural Finance), Non-Credit Business (Capital Markets, Wealth Management, Asset Management
and Agri Services) and Life Insurance. The Balance Sheet Management Unitoperations manage
the liquidity and Balance Sheet. Edelweiss has an asset base of over INR 32,000 crore with
revenue of INR 5,316 crore and net profit of INR 414 crore for FY16. Its consistent performance
is evidenced by a PAT (excluding insurance) CAGR of 38% over the last four years.

The group’s research driven approach and proven history of innovation has enabled it to foster
strong relationships across all client segments. The group has sizeable presence in large retail
segment through its businesses such as Life Insurance, Housing Finance, Mutual Fund and Retail
Financial Markets. It serves its 887,000 strong client base through 6,227 employees based out of
237 offices (including nine international offices) in 122 cities. Together with over 4,500 strong
network of Sub-Brokers and Authorized Persons, Edelweiss group has presence across all major
cities in India.

company in the United States of America 
 Edelweiss Commodities and Advisors Limited (ECAL) - It is also known as Edelweiss
Commodity Service Limited. Started in 2004, it deals in trading of agricultural products
and precious metals 
 EC Global Limited, Mauritius (ECGL) – In the end of 2004, Edelweiss started a global
business company in Mauritius 
 ECL Finance Limited (ECL Finance) – Started in 2005, it deals with financing and
money lending 
 Edelcap Securities and Transaction Services Private Limited (Edelcap STSPL) –Edelcap

for fixed income derivatives and portfolio risk.
3) IB: Help in preparation of pitches and research. Preparing valuations for comparison across
companies.
4) IE: To Provide quality research to clients on the sectors covered. Updating and interacting with
then on stocks and the sectors covered. Marketing new reports, stock ideas.
