KARATONG

This dance is called the karatong dance, named after the bamboo instrument worn around the waist of male dancers. The fast rhythm of the karatong aims to attract good luck and ward off evil spirits. Female dancers hold sticks representing mango trees as they dance gracefully, swaying their arms and turning while holding flower props. Male dancers hop waltz while striking bamboo sticks in time with the music and partner with female dancers.

KARATONG

This dance is named after the bamboo instrument worn by the male dancers around their waist.
The karatong is struck to a fast rhythm, in the hopes of attracting good luck and driving away evil spirits.
The female dancers dance with sticks that are representative of bunga mangga, or mango trees.

FEMALE:

- Swaying both arms gracefully

- A graceful turn holding the long palda.

- Holding a flower props while swaying gracefully and doing a hop waltz simulatneously.

- Sway the hat gracefully according to the direction of your head

- Dance with your partner

MALE:

- Doing a hop walts while holding the two bamboo sticks and dance according to the beat.

- Striking the bamboo props according to the beat of music

- Turn gracefully just like the females do

- Dance with your partner
