buong papel.
base sa medium of instruction ( English for Science ).

Learning Task#1
A. Ilarawan at ipaliwanag ang pagkakabuo ng isang bundok. Isulat ito sa isang malinis na papel.
( 3-5 pangungusap )
When tectonic plates collide, land features that start as folds and faults can eventually become large
mountain ranges and this process is called orogenesis. Other mountains are formed by the earth’s crust
rising in a dome, or by volcanic activity when the crust cracks open. Sometimes the crust has folded and
buckled, sometimes it breaks into huge blocks.
B. Magbigay ng 2-3 pagkakaiba ng isang bundok at ng isang bulkan. Gamiting gabay ang Venn Diagram sa
ibaba.

2.Mt. Ulap 2. Mt. Talinis 2. Mt. Dulang-Dulang

3.Mt. Batulao 3. Mt. Guiting-Guiting 3. Mt. Kalatungan

4.Mt. Iraya 4. Mt. Biliran 4. Mt. Matutum

5.Mt. Maculot 5. Mt. Baloy 5. Mt. Kitanglad

Climbing the mountain can make your feet strong. When climbing the mountain, you usually shake the
muscles on your arms, waist, back and neck, and this can create a faster metabolism and make your heart
and lungs stronger. In addition, this activity can make you become thinner if you are really fat and tourist
attracted to mountains because of breath taking view.
Sagot: The Theory of Plate Tectonics attributes earthquakes, volcanoes, and the mountain-building process,
and other movement to the interaction of the rigid plates forming the Earth's crust.
Learning Task #2
Gawin
ito sa malinis na papel.

A hotspot's position on the Earth's surface is independent of tectonic plate boundaries, and so hotspots
may create a chain of volcanoes as the plates move above them.
Gawin
ito sa malinis na papel.
The Hawaiian Islands were formed by such a hot spot occurring in the middle of the Pacific Plate. While
the hot spot itself is fixed, the plate is moving. So, as the plate moved over the hot spot, the string of islands
that make up the Hawaiian Island chain were formed and Iceland formed by the pocket of magma that sits
beneath Iceland is thought to be what created the island, as hot lava rose to the surface of the ocean, where
it cooled and gradually accumulated into an island beginning about 70 million years ago, according to San
Francisco's Exploratorium museum.

- Galapagos Islands
- Yellowstone
- Azores Islands
- Afar
Yellowstone
Heat from the mantle plume has melted rocks in the crust, and created two magma chambers of partially
molten, partially solid rock near Yellowstone’s surface. Heat from the shallowest magma chamber caused an
area of the crust above it to expand and rise. Stress on the overlying crust resulted in increased earthquake
activity along newly formed faults. Eventually, these faults reached the magma chamber and magma oozed
through the cracks. Escaping magma released pressure within the chamber, which also allowed volcanic
gasses to escape and expand explosively in a massive volcanic eruption. The eruption spewed copious
volcanic ash and gas into the atmosphere and produced fast, super-hot debris flows (pyroclastic flows) over
the existing landscape. As the underground magma chamber emptied, the ground above it collapsed and
created the first of Yellowstone’s three calderas.
Learning Task #3

Active volcanoes
-The west coast of the Americas, The east coast of Siberia, Japan, Philippines and Indonesia.
Earthquakes epicenter
-Mexico, Columbia, Indonesia, Chile and Russia
Mountain Ranges
-South America, Western North America, Northern Pakistan, Australia and Europe
bulubundukin?
Earthquakes, volcanoes and mountain ranges occur because of the movement of the plates, especially
as plates interact at their edges or boundaries. At diverging plate boundaries, earthquakes occur as the
plates pull away from each other. Volcanoes also form as magma rises upward from the underlying mantle
along the gap between the two plates. We almost never see these volcanoes, because most of them are
located on the sea floor.
Volcanoes, mountain ranges and earthquake epicenter are all product of converging plates. Volcanoes
also produce volcanic earthquake making the location of active volcanoes will always have earthquake
epicenter.
Learning Task #6
Kumpletuhin ang concept map. Gawin ito sa isang malinis na papel. Gamiting gabay ang paunang talata
upang humanap ng iba pang mapagkukunan ng impormasyon.
