15TH REGIONAL STUDENT CONFERENCE

September 25 - 27, 2019

CONCEPT PAPER
INTRODUCTION

The Council of Student Chapters (CSC), the student arm of the Institute of
Integrated Electrical Engineers of the Philippines, Inc. (IIEE) is organizing its 15th IIEE-
CSC Regional Student Conference with the theme: “Distinctive Journey on
Advancing Global Competitiveness.”

BACKGROUND AND RATIONALE

The 15th Regional Student Conference is composed of various activities that


will benefit the Electrical Engineering and Electrical Technology students. The
Conference involves the following events:

 33rdRegional Quiz Show


 19thRegional Math Wizard
 20thRegional Student Congress
 Technical & Non-Technical Seminars
 Ilocos Tour
 Socialization/Miss IIEE 2019

The 33rd Regional Quiz Show and 19th Regional Math Wizard – these
academic competitions are trademarks of CSC and have been the most prestigious
in the country. Participants coming from different parts of the region showcase their
intellect for Electrical Engineering and Mathematics, respectively. These activities
serve as the elimination round for the National Quiz Show and National Math Wizard,
which will be held during the 21 National Student Convention in November 2019.

The 20 Regional Student Congress – aims to unite Electrical Engineering and

Electrical Technology students and promote teamwork in their respective regions. It


serves as a venue where CSC officers and members discuss and resolve concerns
encountered by the regional student chapters. In addition, the Election of the new
set of officers of the Regional Council of Student Chapters (RCSC) will be
conducted as a part of this activity.
Technical & Non-Technical Seminars – enhance the knowledge of the
students in the field of Electrical Engineering and Electrical Technology.

Ilocos Tour- to offer reasonable tour made for students to be globally


competitive.

Socialization/Miss Gay IIEE- to help build the confidence level of the


students and to enhance their capabilities and meet fellow students from
different schools.

OBJECTIVES

The objectives of the 15th IIEE-CSC Regional Student Conference are:

1. To highlight the 33rd IIEE–CSC Regional Quiz Show and the 19 th IIEE-
CSC Regional Math Wizard, that aims to uplift the standards of
electrical engineering education in the country by promoting and
organizing a healthy competition among student members
nationwide.

2. To unite students from the different parts of the country and mingle
with each other where exchange of thought and knowledge
happens through the event.

3. To share innovative ideas and experiences to fellow Electrical


Engineering and Electrical Technology students across the region.

THE STRUCTURE OF THE CONFERENCE

The conference will be a three-day event.

During its first day, the Conference opens with Technical Seminars. Various
topics will be discussed by distinguished resource speakers. This will be followed by a
question and answer portion for a better understanding of the topics by the
students. In the afternoon, the Regional Student Congress, facilitated by CSC
representative/s, will serve as an open forum between the CSC officers and the
student members.
The second day will resume the technical seminar in the morning and in the
afternoon the RCSC with the help of Ilocos Norte offers reasonable tour made for
students to be globally competitive.

The third day is the highlight of the Regional Student Conference. It will
start with the 19th IIEE – CSC Regional Math Wizard followed by the 33rd IIEE – CSC
Regional Quiz Show in the afternoon.

PARTICIPANTS

The participants of the conference shall be Electrical Engineering and


Electrical Technology student members of the IIEE-CSC. However, students who are
not members of IIEE – CSC will also be allowed to attend the conference.

REGISTRATION

The Registration fee will be paid to the authorized person/s in charge


upon registration before the opening of the conference.

VAT-inclusive Registration Fees per activity are stated as follows:
