:: Take Action! Our friends at Californians for Pesticide Reform (CPR) are working
hard to make sure that the highly carcinogenic chemical, methyl iodide, not be
registered as a pesticide in California. More info about methy iodide here:

Grants and Fundraising Opportunities...not much to report here...
:: The Natural Resources Defense Council (NRDC) is accepting nominations for its
second annual Growing Green Awards. Winners will be chosen in four
categories: Food Producer, Business Leader, Thought Leader, and Water
Steward. A cash prize of $10,000 will be given to the winner of the Food

’10). The Bay Area 2020 program trains and supports community leaders
through the Community Resilience planning toolkit and workshops series, as well
as promoting policies, hosting public events, and building networks to
encourage the transition to a more resilient Bay Area. We need assistance with
research, organizing, outreach, and communications. Experience in public
communications, sustainable economic development, community outreach,
and writing is a plus. We offer a $300/month reimbursement stipend. Contact
