History

Since the end of the seventies, Mouawad-Edde has been a company

that unified two energies in such an interactive way that their specific
contributions led to a sound and reputable company.

First of all, Milad Ghazal Mouawad is the personification of common

sense, intuition, business acumen and the know-how of a man whose
name is, today, synonymous with the respect of values. Milad Mouawad,
a man of his word, has always privileged his involvement in public
works (roads, highways and public buildings) by developing an unfailing
concern to deliver as quickly as possible the projects that are entrusted
to him. At the beginning, he set up a small enterprise bearing his name.
Then, he founded with Engineer Emile Khlat, the company Khlat &
Mouawad. Since 1978, he started to prepare the way for establishing
a holding company where his two sons, Georges and Joseph, could
work in their capacities as Engineers, one who have studied in France
and the other in the United States of America, by teaching them his own
professional values.

And that is when he had the very good idea to propose to the Engineer
Charles Edde, who is very well-known for his high moral qualities, his
technical skills and his devotion for good work to create a partnership
between both of them and set up the Mouawad-Edde SARL company.

Mouawad-Edde took on the ME name. It is the merge of two

complementary competences that strive hard to organize, execute and
deliver projects. Projects that have become bigger and bigger and whose
complexities are up to the challenges of each project.

Today, ME is widely recognized and represents a guarantee to its clients

in terms of projects well executed and implemented, as it is shown in the
pictures of the present catalogue.

As far as ME partnership is concerned, some changes have recently

occurred due to the passing away of the founder Mr. Milad Mouawad
and to the departure of Milad Mouawad’s son, Joseph Mouawad and the
arrival in 2012, of his grand-son, Milad Mouawad.

Legally speaking, some changes have also been applied in the

view of making the company’s activities more efficient outside
Lebanon. This is why the two entities Mouawad-Edde Holding SAL
and Mouawad-Edde Offshore have been created with the same new
partnerships and the same objectives, and Mouawad-Edde sarl has
moved to be Mouawad-Edde SAL.

Nevertheless, it is the same leading and innovative spirit that drives

Mouawad-Edde company with the same determination to deliver
complete projects with the highest work quality standard on time opening
new horizons for its activities in the new energies and services.
Quality Policy

Mouawad Edde is one of the leading construction companies in

Lebanon, which provides services for residential, commercial,
real estate as well as for infrastructure and earthworks disciplines.
Our policy is to provide results that exceed client’s expectations,
by attracting qualified employees and seeking out high quality
manpower and by evaluating our suppliers.

In order to enhance our customer’s perception, Mouawad-Edde

has adopted a quality management system that complies with the
International Standard ISO 9001: 2008 and updated to become ISO
9001-2015. This Quality System provide clients with the assurance that
the projects completed by ME will be of a consistently high standard.

The Management of ME is totally committed to the implementation

maintenance and continual improvement of this quality management
system and, in return, expects every employee to contribute and support it.

Mouawad Edde, with the support of all its employees, strives

to implement the below objectives in order to satisfy customer
requirement and enhance its image in the construction market:

• Complete construction projects with highest standards

• Use the best quality products from reputable suppliers
• Use the best qualified and resourced sub-contractors
• Provide a work environment that will attract quality people and
maintain existing ones
• Create and maintain a safe working environment for all staff,
sub - contractors and visitors
• Meet standards and legislative requirements to enable ME to
compete on larger projects

Quality objectives in line with this policy have been established,

communicated, understood and implemented throughout the
processes.

All employees are given awareness training to ensure this Quality

Policy is understood, implemented and maintained.

OUR MISSION

Our mission is summarised in one word - competence - in order to carry through the
successful completion of projects we undertake and the works we accomplish by
providing end results that exceed the clients’ expectations.

As a concept, competence is far more complex than it appears at first

sight. Competence means first and foremost the skills needed to create
top quality work while providing high value for money. From the outset,
Mouawad-Eddé has sought out and fostered these skills to maintain the
highest standards of capability.

Competence likewise signifies the physical capacity to undertake projects that

often demand specialised equipment.

Mouawad-Eddé has assembled an outstanding collection of specialised

machinery as well as more versatile equipment. This flexibility allows the work
to proceed smoothly, up to standards and within prescribed completion dates.

Finally, competence is the means to win the trust of our clients as Mouawad-
Eddé will deliver work up to their expectations, representing high value for
money. Obtaining this trust is not an easy task and so our continuous success
speaks for itself. In the final analysis, this is our outstanding capability: the
capability that surpasses all others.
MOUAWAD-EDDE

evidence of quality and skillful performance.
These are the records for all to see and we feel proud of that.

Engineer: MS. Paul & Antoine Zein with rust, and successive repair works were unable to withhold the irreversible
Project completed in 1993 degradation of this chimney.
The owners decided to construct a new reinforced concrete chimney,
corresponding to the new standards of construction and of environmental
protection, at the location of the existing chimney. It was decided, in order not to
interrupt the operations of the cement plant, to keep the old chimney functioning
while construction works were proceeding.
Therefore, the sides of the existing chimney were used as an internal formwork
for the new chimney, with care taken to isolate steel and fresh concrete from
the heat of this internal formwork with a row of fire-clay bricks.
A three-meter high cylindrical steel external formwork was manufactured. This
formwork could be dismantled as soon as the concrete took its primary set and
reassembled 3 meters higher in order to pour the next section of the chimney.
