Pakistan and the Modern World


Liquate Ali Khan
1. Liquate Ali Khan was the first prime minister of Pakistan. He delivered a very successful
speech at Kansas University in American
2. He, like a good lawyer, very successfully pleaded the case of Pakistan
3. In America he told why the creation of Pakistan was inevitable
4. The creation of Pakistan dissolved the threats to peace of Asia
5. He told one by one all the reasons that why the creation of Pakistan was inevitable.
6. First of all he told that in the united India, there lived two nations who were the
followers of two different religions
7. The Muslims believed in one God and His last Prophet Hazrat Muhammad (PBUH).
Contrary to that, the Hindus believed in many gods and goddesses and there was no
concept of prophet hood at all
8. Secondly, in the united India, Muslims were in minority whereas Hindus were in
majority. It meant, if the Muslims got freedom from the British rule, it would not be
called a true freedom. It would mean only the change of the masters as the Hindus
would replace the British
9. The economic outlooks of the two nations were quite different. The Muslims had their
own laws of inheritance. The Muslims believed in the circulation of the wealth.
10. The sub-continent was too large to be managed under one unit. If it was done so, it
might have created many problems politically and administratively. So, it became
inevitable to divide the subcontinent into two sovereign states.
11. Hindus believed in the cast-system whereas the Muslim believed in the equality of all
human beings.
12. At the end Liaquat Ali Khan Expected that America should share its knowledge and
experience with new born state Pakistan in order to make it stable, strong and a
democratic country

1. Above board ‫ﺑﺎﻻ ﺗر‬
Ali is an honest trader; he is above board in his business.
2. A bluestocking ‫ادﺑﯽ ﺧﺎﺗون‬
As a player, he will not marry a bluestocking.
3. Add insult to injury ‫ﺑﮯ ﻋزﺗﯽ ﮐرﻧﺎ‬
You do not return my money, and then talk against me, you clearly add insult to injury.
4. All ears ‫ﺗوﺟہ ﺳﮯ‬
While listening to the lecture, the students were all ears.
5. Apple of discord ‫وﺟہ ﺗﻧﺎزﻋہ‬
This property is an apple of discord between these two brothers.
