Module One: Introduction to Religion, Religious Experiences, and

Spirituality

Evaluate We are now at the concluding part of our

module. Let’s check out whether we
have indeed achieved the objectives we
have set by providing the information
asked below. Copy and answer the
questions in paragraph form. Encode
your answers in the text box.
☀ What new significant lessons have I learned about Religion, Religious
Experiences and Spirituality from this module?
o The significant lessons that I’ve learned through this module is that
we should value the presence of God by having a strong faith in Him.
I was able to reflect myself upon understanding the true essence of
His existence by worshiping and expressing my deep sincerity, love,
faith, and most especially my hope for the betterment of my whole
self. This module made me realize the difference between right and
wrong thru various perspectives. Furthermore, this module
emphasizes of who I am in the eyes of God by valuing my existence in
this world and appreciating every little thing I’ve received throughout
my life. In essence, my perspectives towards God really change and
created a huge impact in having deep worship towards Him and by
confessing all of my sins to Him every time I prayed. This module also
encouraged me to value life as an important toll in achieving my
dreams and make it more tangible towards success. Surprisingly, this
module really empowered my strong presence in Him by doing good
deeds to my fellow brothers and sisters with respect and loving each
other’s differences. Lastly, I realized that not everybody is perfect. I
believe in order for us to successfully love ourselves is by accepting
our own’s flaws and embracing it can be a huge impact towards our
well-being.
☀ If I were to encounter someone who does not share the same religion with
me, and whose beliefs/practices are quite different from mine, how would I
treat that person? What would be my manner of approaching our different
views about life?
o I think if I were to encounter someone who does not share the same
religion with me I think my approach to him or her is to have a
respect kind of manner wherein he or she does not feel different
among any other people. I think that it is important for us to accept
each and everyone’s religion because I think it provides a sense of
completeness within ourselves within our whole being as a human.
Even though that person might not share the same region with me I
think I would treat her the same way or equal treatment the same as
my family friends and other people who are dear to me. Also, what I
will do is to have a deep conversation and how he or she views the
importance of life and how his or her culture differs from mine so
that I can be able to reflect upon myself and to him or her. I believe
that embracing one’s culture will help us achieve towards our
acceptance for our well-being. I’ve realized that if we know how to
respect that kind of person then I think I’m doing the right thing and
that’s what should we all doing right now. Since I believe that respect
is the key to have a peaceful and happy life. Lastly, the power to
acceptance of one’s religion will help us understand the true value of
life like we are created similarly but we are created with a huge
purpose and that is to make an influence to people that we are who
we are.

☀ After this module, what beliefs or practices do I need to CHANGE,

CONTINUE, and STOP? (Example: 3 beliefs/practices I need to change; 3
beliefs/practices I will continue; and 3 beliefs/practices I should STOP.
Briefly explain why you need to change, continue or stop them.)

3 beliefs/practices I need to change;

 Relying on other people’s judgements.
o As much as I would like to wave my magic wand and get rid of
all of the judgment in the world, that’s not likely to occur
anytime soon. Most of us know what it feels like to be judged.
Whether we are judged for the way we look, our weight, the
way we parent, the job we have, the money we make, the
house we own (or don’t) or any other number of things, being
on the other end of judgment is not much fun. Adding to the
judgments from others, the judgments we so often hurl at
ourselves create even more limitations. If we desire to have a
life that works for we, one we actually enjoy living, we have to
go beyond judgment because judgment limits all possibilities.
 Doubting my own capabilities and strengths
o Self-doubt can be paralyzing. I’ve experienced it myself many
times in my career. Sometimes, people refer to this as
imposter syndrome. What I’ve noticed is that during those
times when I doubt my abilities, or constantly question myself,
I don’t really make the kind of progress I want to. On the other
hand, during those moments when I’ve believed in myself, I’ve
actually accomplished the most.
 Having a lazy attitude
o I think that there’s no cure for laziness. The only way to
overcome it is by setting my mind to the task and getting up
and completing it. Start right now to develop the self-discipline
I need to reach my goals.

3 beliefs/practices I will continue

 Having a strong faith to God
o Faith, then, is just as important as the air we breathe. While
the oxygen in the air nourishes the body, faith nourishes the
heart and the soul. It's the energy that courses through every
single fiber and cell within our beings. It's part of every muscle
and every strand of thought. Knowing God's Word goes hand
in hand with trusting God and praying. Read His promises, and
then have great faith in God, that they will come to pass. Pray
them over our life. In God's Word we will find strength, hope,
love, peace, and joy.
 Respecting cultural differences
o I personally believe that culture shapes our identity and
influences our behaviors, and cultural diversity makes us
accept, and even to some extent, integrate and assimilate with
other cultures. Cultural diversity has become very important in
today's world.
 To never give up on my dreams
o Fear of failure is one of the biggest factors holding thousands
of people around the world back from pursuing their dreams.
But, failure can be more beneficial to us than we may realize.
In fact, our approach to failure can be everything – learn from
it, and we’re far more likely to succeed in the future. I believe
that “self-believing” is by believing in ourselves. It means
willingness to accept “failure” so that we can learn the critical
skill of adaptation. It means not compromising on our most
important values, and walking the walk, rather than just talking
the talk.

3 beliefs/practices I should STOP.

 Comparing myself to others
o When we compare ourselves to somebody else, I don't really
focus on my work. All I think about is how quick I was, or
aren't, seeing results compared to the other person. It's
distracting and can lead to poor quality work. Also, to
overcome this stigma, I will ty to gain and boosts my self-
esteem from my efforts to deal with jealousy or envy
positively. Showing humility and avoiding comparisons let me
build improve self-esteem and to successfully achieve my
dreams in the future.
 Being unproductive
o Taking small steps toward better self-care, increased energy,
improved goals, and healthy boundary setting can help us stop
feeling lazy in no time. Prioritizing and taking consistent action
steps are the key to long-term change and there is no better
time than now to take those first steps. In simple terms,
productivity is important because I can get more done. If I’m
being a productive person, I can do more with less time. That
means that I can take on harder, more important tasks. It also
means that I have more time to do the things I’ve enjoy like
hobbies or spending time with friends.
 Making fun of people’s disabilities.
o When I interact with people with disabilities, I will talk directly
to them, not to their companions, aides, or interpreters. For
instance, when I interact with someone who is Deaf or Hard of
Hearing, remember that some individuals may be able to hear,
some may be able to lip read, while others prefer to use sign
language or assistive technology. Ask them how they prefer to
communicate. For me it is important to accept them of who
they really are because we might don’t know if what will
happen to us if we occurred the same situation as disabled
person has. We should respect them and treat them as the
way treated our families, friends, and to God.
