Three-Terminal Positive Fixed Voltage Regulators: Semiconductor Technical Data

These three-terminal positive fixed voltage regulators are designed to provide stable voltage regulation for applications requiring output currents over 1 amp. They employ internal current limiting, thermal shutdown, and compensation to maintain output voltages within 2-4% tolerance despite variations in input voltage, load conditions, and temperature. Available in surface mount and through-hole packages, these regulators can deliver regulated power from standard voltage rails and have operating temperature ranges from -40°C to +125°C with adequate heatsinking.

These voltage regulators are monolithic integrated circuits designed as
fixed–voltage regulators for a wide variety of applications including local, THREE–TERMINAL
on–card regulation. These regulators employ internal current limiting, POSITIVE FIXED
thermal shutdown, and safe–area compensation. With adequate heatsinking
they can deliver output currents in excess of 1.0 A. Although designed VOLTAGE REGULATORS
primarily as a fixed voltage regulator, these devices can be used with
SEMICONDUCTOR
external components to obtain adjustable voltages and currents.
