growth rates, pointing to the rise in knowledge-based professions
and the knowledge economy. Patent applications and registrations
remain a valuable insight into the business problems and
commercial use cases that organisations and individuals are focused
on solving.

understand and assess the degree to which blockchain technology
is a critical enabler for continued economic growth. This can be
achieved by understanding the size of the blockchain market; the
types of use cases of blockchain patents; and the degree to which
patent applications are being registered in Australia compared to
