Importing data, doing analysis, and reporting


The task is to import data from the delimited text file, run certain operations, do
analysis and report the results.

1. Save the generated files both Excel and Word as Assignment 9 _<your
name>

Instructions:
1. Open excel then go to tab open.
2. Open the fi le sales.csv file.
3. It is Tab Delimited and comma delimited data. Use specify ‘Tab’, ‘Comma’ as the
delimiter.
2. Insert a row on top and putting column headings:

First Name, Last Name, May, Jun, July Aug, Sep and Oct.

3. Keep adding appropriate column heading as you work through the exercise.
4. Insert another row on top and putting table heading with a company logo (given
below), merged and centered across the entire dataset:

9. Provide total sales value for each salesperson.
10. Rearrange the data in descending order of the total sales value for each salesperson.
11. Find the average sales value for each salesperson.
12. Rearrange the data in ascending order of the average sales value for each salesperson.
13. Find the monthly sales values that are above 13000 as well as those below 3000 by
formatting these cells differently.
14. Add directional icon to the monthly sales value.
15. Find the salespersons that are among the top 10% on the aggregate sales value.
16. Find the salespersons that are among the bottom 10% on the aggregate sales value.
17. find 50% of their average sales as bonus!
