    ABSTRACT

    This research paper assessed the level of the social impact of the operation of KEPCO-

    Ilijan Power Plant in Brgy. Ilijan in Batangas City. This assessment was based on the

    Interorganizational Committee on Principles and Guidelines for Social Impact

    Assessment (ICPG-SIA) with the following assessment indicators namely demographic

    characteristics; community and institutional structure; political and social resources;

    individual and family change; and community resources. the researcher employed the

    descriptive research design. This paper employed the quantitative research design to

    assess the impact of the operation of KEPCO-Ilijan Power plant to the households of

    Brgy. Ilijan who were greatly affected by the establishment and operation of the said

    power plant. A survey questionnaire was utilized to determine and describe the level of

    social impact of the operation of the said power plant. Statistical tools such as frequency

    counts with their frequency distribution, weighted mean, analysis of variance (ANOVA),

    Pearson’s correlation analysis and regression analysis was also applied to assess

    quantitatively and completely all the inquiries related to social impact of the operation of

    the said power plant.
