CENTRAL AIR
CONDITIONER
CENTRAL A.C.
▪Centralized air conditioning system
providing fully controled heating, cooling in
the entire building.
▪These are employed widely in
theatres,stores,restaurant,other public
places.Such system being complex generally
must be installed when the building is
constructed.
▪Such installation are used for cooling &
dehumidifying during the summer months, &
the regular heating is used during winter.
HOW A CENTRL A.C. WORKS?
• Furnace heat the air in winter
and blower circulates air
through the home
• a.c. evaporated coil removes
heat and humidity in summer
• Compressor circulates
refrigerant through evaporator
coil and expels heat outdoors
• Cool or warm air supplied to
the home
• Thermostat sets temperature
for your comfort
• Air return to furnace for air
conditioning.
• House air is cleaned before
recirculated
Advantages
• Reduces noise and aesthetic impacts on building occupants.
• It gives the benefit of both cooling in summers and heating in winters.
• It has the ability to cool an entire house simultaneously whereas a
window unit tends to cool a single room at a time.
• It is more economical and energy efficient than window a.c. units.
• The filter used in central air conditioning system can take pollutants
and allergens out of the air.
• Central systems permit building-wide load sharing.
• Active smoke control is best accomplished.
Disadvantages
• Failure of any key equipment component may
affect an entire building.
• Specialists are needed.
• Analysis and understanding more difficult.
• The need to transfer conditioned air or water
imposes space and volume demands on a
building.
