1.There is a fixed voltage across a resistor, and you measure a current of 1 A. If you
replace the resistor with one that has twice the resistance value, how much
current will you measure?
2. In a circuit, the voltage is doubled and the resistance is cut in half. Would the
current increase or decrease and if so, by how much?
9. If the voltage in Problem 8 is doubled, will a 0.5 A fuse blow? Explain your
answer.
11. By varying the rheostat (variable resistor) in the circuit of figure 3, you can
change the amount of current. The setting of the rheostat is such that the current is
750 mA. What is the resistance value of this setting? To adjust the current to 1 A, to
what resistance value must you set the
rheostat?
