the environment for many years, and I'd like to work in this field as a career
in the future. I've been reading books about climate change and global
.warming since I was young, so my background in these topics is very good

Currently, I'm studying literary subjects, such as, Geography, History and
English as main subjects at school, and I believe these subjects will benefit
my further studies

After doing my final exams this year, I'm planning to spend a year working
on this course, and after that I'll apply for university to do environment
.studies

The main purpose is let other people know the effects that climate change
and global warming can have on our small planet, and also, the developing
risks. It is inevitable that we can't avoid these dangers without solution, as it
turns out that these problems are the considered the greatest in the 21st
.century

Unit Two
Personal Statement

This is my personal statement in connection with the course I am

applying for. There are various reasons why I'm applying for a course in
graphic design. To start with, most studies nowadays are concerned with
graphics, that's why I 'm really interested in this field. Moreover, all you
need is a computer and a connection, and so it just requires some basic
.skills which introduces you to the big wide world of technology

I've been interested with graphics since I was a small child, I was always
good at painting, and I have participated in a number of galleries and
exhibitions. In addition, I have some paintings that are well-known to
.most artists in the country

I'm looking forward to this new experience at university and I'm

confident that I'll be able to pass this challenge successfully. Finally,
studying at this course will be more than exciting to me, so I hope that
.my application will receive positive response
 Unit Three
A Strange Coincidence

Last summer I traveled to Amman. I had a back bag only, and while I
was about to finish some paper work at the boarders, I met an old
woman, she had so many bags with her that I couldn't help not noticing,
so I offered to help her, and, of course she was very pleased to find
.someone to help her carry those heavy bags

I was going to visit some old friends of mine who I hadn't seen for years,
and the old woman was going to the capital too, so I'm still with her in
the same car, we talked a lot while we were riding through the beautiful
plains and mountains. I told the driver to take the old woman home first,
.and after that, I reached my sister's house

The next morning, a friend called me and we agreed to have lunch at his
house. He came at 11:00 am, and we went straight to his house. When we
reached there, my friend wanted me to meet his father and mother. To my
surprise, my friends mother, was the old woman who I spent the day
before with. It was a big surprise to me and to my friend and his family.
.It is definitely a small world

: Results
The questionnaire asked over a hundred of students aged between 14 and
20 how they spend their time and what they use the online world for. It
was clear that the majority of the students use their mobiles and
computers for more than four hours a day, and they spend their time
chatting to friends. And we have found that the parents themselves spend
too much time online, and so, they don't have time to watch their
.children
 Unit Five
Communication Technology, advantages and disadvantages
Communication technology plays an important role in our lives
nowadays. In the past, there were two ways of communication between
people, the telephone and letters, and after the huge developments in
technology, these traditional methods were replaced by modern ways of
communicating, such as, emails, chatting, and others. As a result, the use
.of the telephone and the letters have decreased a lot

These modern methods of communicating are fast and cheap. Moreover,

they keep you in touch with everything happening all over the world. As
a result, these modern methods have really turned the big wide world into
.a small village, and you can communicate easily and instantly

On the other hand, many studies have proved that this online world has
many negative effects on the family life. Many social problems have
appeared, children are left on their own with this new technology, which
.may lead to some disastrous problems

To conclude, modern ways of communication are fast, cheap and

.comfortable, but traditional ones are absolutely safe

 Unit Nine

Sport Event

Every year, our school football team plays in the Qalqilia league to
.choose the qualified team to play in the finals

Our team did its best and after long and tough matches, we won. We now
have the chance to participate in the finals which are organised in Hebron
.in April. Our team trained very well for the final games

April arrived, we were very anxious to play and win. If you want to reach
the final match, you'll have to play 3 games, which we did. The final
game was against a team from Hebron. We knew it wasn't an easy task,
.though, it wasn't very difficult

As the match moved to the second half, with an even score, it become
more rough and tough. Our players did their best not to lose the finals,
but the goal keeper of the Hebron team fell to the ground hitting his head
to the iron bar of the goal. Everybody was very worried about him,
because his head and face were covered by blood. The ambulance
.immediately took him to hospital

The referee decided that the match should be postponed till later time
which will be agreed on. We all were very upset, but of course, this
would have happened to any of our players, and we wouldn’t be happy to
finish the match in this way. I hope the goal keeper is recovering, and we
.hope to win in the final
