PRINCE GIRK S.
ADLAWAN- GRADE 12 CCS2
MODULE 5
What I Know
1. The girl is drinking a bottle of water under the sun.
2. The dehydrated, weak, no energy person is sweating under the sun while the
tongue is out of his mouth.
3. The person is showing that he felt colds.
What I Can Do 1
1. Dehydration is the lack of water of the body, either the person is not drinking
water regularly or the person is from an intense activity. To avoid it, one must
have a habit of drinking water regularly to keep the water in the body maintain.
2. When we notice him/her experiencing shallow breathing, clumsiness or lack of
coordination, or showing loss of consciousness. In order to prevent this kind of
condition, the person should bring extra clothing so that you can change your
clothes immediately, eat carbohydrates, drink more fluids, and move your body to
help warm your core.
3. There are plenty of ways to cure experiencing symptoms of hyperthermia with
the help of other people or even you can do it yourself. First is to lower body
temperature by facing a cool mist and fan, and staying in cool blanket. Using
medication to control the heartbeat and stabilize blood pressure, monitoring of
blood pressure, heart rhythm, acid levels in an intensive care unit.
4.
Stay well hydrated, drink water or drinks containing electrolytes, such as
Gatorade or Powerade, every 15 to 20 minutes when you’re active in the
heat.
Take cool-down breaks in the shade or in an air-conditioned environment.
If you don’t need to be outside in extreme heat, stay indoors.
5. By taking dedicated rest or off days each week, stay on top of sleep and nutrition,
including post-workout nutrition, should sleep in the 7-8 hour range each night
and will need more as training intensity increases. Lastly and most importantly is
to listen to your body, it all comes down to this. If you’re tired, sore and cranky,
there’s something going on. Tune it, then drop out for a little bit, and come back
stronger, fitter and happier.
What I Can Do 3
Directions: Make a summary of your learnings on the lesson by filling up the necessary
information’s needed in the triangle. Write your answer on the space provided.
1. Is it possible to
experience dehydration,
overexertion, and
hyperthermia at the same
time? If so, what will happen
to the person who experienced
the three together?
2. Not everyone has the deep knowledge
and understanding about the topic in this module
therefore, I must enhance ng management skills for
safety precautions to avoid certain conditions related
to physical activity participation and to help someone in the
future who might suffer from the conditions explained in this
module.
3. I learned a lot in this module but I have one thing for sure that I
should always bring in me throughout my life, it is to be extra careful to
my physique and to listen to my body because I could prevent some conditions
by just listening to what my body feels.
