An Afternoon in Town

Hier, Charlotte et sa copine Nicole ont decide de passer 1' apres-midi au centre

commercial. D'abord, elles ont pris une limonade ala terrasse d'un cafe et apres 9a, elles sont

allees voir un film passionnant au cinema. L'hero!ne du film etait une jeune vedette italienne,

bien connue pour son role dans «Matrix revolution».

Apres le cinema, elles sont allees essayer des minijupes en solde, dans un nouveau

magasin tres branche. Les filles disent sou vent qu' elles n' ont rien a se mettre. Nicole reve
de s'acheter une minijupe en cuir. Mais, malgre les prix soldes, elles n'ont rien achete, meme
pas un mouchoir ! Les deux amies sont retoumees a la terrasse, ou elles ont mange des glaces

au chocolat. Finalement, elles ont pris le bus pour rentrer a la maison.

Voici la lettre que Christine a re~ue de son correspondant, Pierre.

Chere Christine

Comment vas-tu? Tu te souviens que j'ai toujours voulu faire un sejour dans un
pays etranger? Alors, quand on m' a propose un poste de professeur dans un lycee fran~ais

au Mexique, j'ai accepte tout de suite. J'y suis depuis six mois.

Ma vie ici est tres interessante. Je veux tout voir et tout visiter. Je suis deja alle
visiter des mines pas tres loin d'ici.

Mes collegues sont tres sympathiques. On m'invite souvent a diner le soir. La


plupart des eleves sont tres sages, mais il y en a deux qui se conduisent tres mal. Je crois
qu' ils preferent leur ancien professeur de fran~ais !

A New Student

L' autre jour, un nouvel eleve est arrive anotre ecole. Ce gan;on est grand et beau, mais

tres timide. II est de nationalite fran<;aise. Ses parents sont medecins al'hopital en ville.

Michel est arrive dans le pays, il y a trois semaines. II adore le pays et surtout les plages,

parce qu'il est passionne des sports nautiques. C' est un Fran<;ais assez bizarre, ce gan;on, car

il n'aime pas le climat fran~ais. En effet, Michel est ne au Senegal. Quand, sa famille est

rentree en France, Michel n' a pas aime le froid et a insiste que ses parents repartent dans un
pays plus pres de 1' equateur.

Michel est tres content de se retrouver dans un pays ou il fait chaud. Maintenant, il doit
apprendre 1' anglais.

A Bad Day from Start to Finish

Quelle joumee! Jean est descendu en retard ce matin, pour prendre son petit dejeuner.
ll n'y avait plus que de la confiture de peche. Jean deteste les peches! Puis, il est monte se

brosser les dents. Mais, il n'a pas trouve sa brosse a dents. En redescendant en chercher une
autre, il est tombe dans les escaliers. Ensuite, il s' est brule la main so us la douche, car 1' eau
etait trop chaude. II a quitte la maison, avec une demi-heure de retard.

A I' ecole, ce n'etait guere mieux. Jean a passe une tres mauvaise joumee. II etait
content de rentrer enfin le soir. Pauvre Jean, a 100 metres de la maison, il a commence a
pleuvoir. II etait trempe jusqu'aux os. II s'est couche ce soir-la, de tres mauvaise humeur.

The End of a Long Holiday

Quand nous etions enfants, rna soeur et moi, nous passions nos vacances ala campagne.
Mes grands-parents y avaient une belle maison que nous aimions beaucoup. Les enfants des
voisins venaient nous chercher, tous les matins, et tous les cinq nous passions de belles joumees,
a la riviere.

Une fois, quand nous sommes arrives passer les vacances de Paques, les enfants des
voisins n'y etaient plus. C'est mon grand-pere qui nous a dit la triste nouvelle. Les voisins
etaient partis au Canada. M. Martin, le pere, etait main tenant chef d' orchestre, dans une grande
ville canadienne.

En effet, M. Martin etait un musicien fameux. Dix ans plus tot, il avait decide de quitter
sa grande ville. Maintenant, ses vacances etaient finies. Il ne voulait plus vivre ala campagne.
