Lesson 2: Procedure in the Use and Care of Caregiving

Schedule: Monday and Tuesday, 7:30-9:30 am Time Frame: 3 days

OBJECTIVES:
By the end of the lesson, the students will be able to:

 Cite the steps in operating a blender, a food processor, bottler sterilizer, flat iron, washing
machine, and dryer;
 Explain how to take vital sign such as blood pressure, pulse rate, body temperature, and
respiratory rate;
 Demonstrate how to operate the different tools, equipment, and paraphernalia in preparing
meals, in washing, and in taking vital signs;
 Explain the steps in cleaning the different tool, equipment, and paraphernalia; and
 Demonstrate the steps in cleaning the different tools, equipment, and paraphernalia.

What Do You Already Know?

To get the most out of using caregiving tools and equipment, you have to use them
properly. By using them properly, they become efficient, last long, and maintain their good
working condition. You should know how to operate step-by-step some of the most used
tools and equipment in caregiving.

Explain and demonstrate how to operate one equipment (as assigned to you by your

Form group of three with your parent/guardian

Choose at-least two (2) of any in Caring for tools, Equipment and Paraphernalia and
Activity 1
Demonstrate the steps in cleaning equipment. One of the members of your group will narrate
every step executed while the remaining two (2) will each other in performing each of the steps
in cleaning. Record and send the video via Messenger or Gmail.

Activity 2

Watch any demonstration video of a nurse or caregiver taking vital signs using different
equipment. Record in your notebook or in Microsoft word the results and findings of his/her
demonstration. Present or to your teacher via Gmail for checking.
