Identification:
We have received some support tickets related to following Info Message on the
TT-3606E Message Terminal - Hardware problems: “Distress button failure.
Distress button may no longer work”.

Thrane & Thrane A/S, has investigated this matter and found that the problem is
related a timer issue during power down using the “remote on/off” function.
When performing power down using the remote on/off function the
interconnection box (TT-3616C) will shut down immediately, while the
transceiver performs a software controlled power down lasting approximately 1-
2 seconds. During this “delay” time the transceiver sometimes registers and
stores a communication failure related to the communication between the
transceiver and the interconnection box. When the system is powered up again,
this “old” (and incorrect) warning message is transferred to the message
terminal and printed.
This means that The Info message “Hardware problems - “Distress button
failure. Distress button may no longer work” is actually only relevant during the
power off sequence where the Alarm panel (by means of the interconnection
box is being shut down first) cannot be seen by the terminal.
