(Integration Course 1) SUP-1B: Solved Problem Set Sub-Topic 2

1. This document provides instruction and problems for an integration course 1 module on trigonometry. It contains 15 practice problems resolving trigonometric expressions and applying trigonometric concepts to geometry problems. 2. The problems cover topics like reference angles, trigonometric identities, solving for unknown angles and sides of triangles, and applying trigonometry to real world scenarios like ship distances and bearings. 3. Students are asked to resolve and study the problems, with the goal of strengthening their understanding of trigonometry concepts.

INSTRUCTION: Resolve and study the below problems.

1. The coreference angle of any angle A is the positive acute angle determined by the terminal side of A
and the y-axis. What is the coreference angle of 290 degrees?
Coreference angle should be less than 900 with respect to either +y or -y -axis.
+y-axis is noted as 900 and -y-axis is 2700.
For the+ y −axis : 2900 −900=200 0> 900 therefore, not a coreference angle
For the− y−axis : 2900 −2700=20 0< 900 therefore, 200 is a coreference angle

taking the tangent of both sides : tan ( 820+ 0.35 x ) =tan [ tan−1 ( cot 0.45 x ) ]
