DIVISON OF MABALACAT CITY
I. Introduction
We encounter numbers in our daily life that can be use in dealing in real life
situation. Using divisibility rules effectively help learners to look at numbers
with greater understanding.
In these Learning activity sheet, you will learn about divisibility that will help
you understand numbers better. It also serves as your guide to master the
lesson that focuses on the divisibility rules in finding the common factors of a
number. If mastered it will be easier for you to find the common factors of
numbers without using calculator or without actual performing division.
III. Objectives
After going through this Learning Activity Sheets, you are expected to:
1. use divisibility rules for 2, 5, and 10 to find the common factors of numbers;
2. classify numbers as divisible by 2, 5, and 10; and
3. post the corresponding number in the correct place.

IV.Discussion
In the class of Mrs. Pascual, Darrel the class leader was asked to
group his 40 classmates to group themselves into 2, 5, and 10. Each time
he asked them to form groups, no one is eliminated. But when he asked
them to form group of 3, a learner was eliminated from the grouping. Why
do you think so?
Solution:
40 ÷ 2 = 20 40 ÷ 5 = 4 40 ÷ 10 =
So, 40 can be divide exactly by 2, 5, and 10
Now, if you will divide this by 3, is there a remainder?
Therefore, the group leader of Mrs Pascual can group his classmate by 2, 5,
and 10 with no one is eliminated.
2
Divisibility Rules:
Now, using the divisibility rules for 2, 5, or 10, let us find the common
factors of 20 and 40.
Factors of 20:
20 ÷ 1 = 20
20 ÷ 2 = 10
20 ÷ 5 = 4
Therefore, the factors of 20 are 1, 2, 4, 5, 10, and 20.
Factors of 40:
40 ÷ 1 = 40
40 ÷ 2 = 20
40 ÷ 5 = 8
40 ÷10 = 4
Therefore, the factors of 40 are 1, 2, 4, 5, 8, 10, 20, and 40.
