I. LEARNING CONTENT
Before we formally start with our discussion,
let us have an opening prayer first.

Loving God,

We come to you this hour asking for your blessing and help as we
gathered together.

We pray for your guidance in our studies and ask that you would
clearly, show us how to conduct our work with a spirit of joy and
enthusiasm.

Give us the desire to find ways to excel in our work. Help us to work
together and encourage each other to excellence.

We ask that we would challenge each other to reach higher and

farther to be the best we can be. We ask this in the name of the Lord Jesus
Christ. Amen.

My dear Grade 2 pupils are you aware that the month of October is called
to be the “ Rosary Month “. It is in this month that we as Christians pray
together the Rosary.

Today, we are going to discuss about the

“Rosary”. Are you now excited?

What is rosary?

Rosary represents the Catholic emphasis on “participation in the life

of Mary, whose focus was Christ”. It has series of prayers offered to Jesus
Christ and Mary.

Why is rosary important?

Rosary represents the significant events in

the life of Jesus Christ specifically the different
mysteries. The rosary is often used as a guide for
other Catholic prayers. These prayers are related
to challenges and celebrations in the life of one
praying the rosary or on behalf of another for
whom the prayers are said.

What does the rosary symbolize?

The rosary is more than a prayer. It

symbolizes our destiny in and with God
according to Mary’s example. To live up to this
destiny, we need faith in God’s marvelous
deeds for us, perseverance, in his ways (hope)
and a practical attitude toward living our faith
that is charity.

The following introductory prayers:

Our Father
Our Father, who art in heaven, hallowed be
thy name. Thy kingdom come, thy will be done,
on earth, as it is in heaven. Give us this day our
daily bread and forgive us our trespasses as we
forgive those who trespass against us; and lead us
not into temptation, but deliver us from evil.

Hail Mary
Hail Mary,
Full of Grace,
The Lord is with thee.
Blessed art thou among women,
and blessed is the fruit
of thy womb, Jesus.
Holy Mary,
Mother of God,
pray for us sinners now,
and at the hour of our death.

Glory Be
Glory be to the Father,
and to the Son,
and to the Holy Spirit.
As it was in the beginning, is now,
and ever shall be,
world without end.

Apostles Creed

I believe in God, the Father almighty,

Creator of heaven and earth,
and in Jesus Christ, His only Son, our Lord.
He was conceived by the Holy Spirit,
and born of the Virgin Mary.
He suffered under Pontius Pilate,
was crucified, died and was buried.
He descended into hell.
On the third day He rose again.
He ascended into heaven,
and is seated at the right hand of God the Father Almighty.
He will come again to judge the living and the dead.
I believe in the Holy Spirit,
the Holy Catholic Church,
the communion of saints,
the forgiveness of sins,
the resurrection of the body,
and life everlasting.

Christ is.

Closing Prayer:

LET US PRAY
Dear Lord,
We have come to the end of this meeting and we want to thank
you. Lord, you have been with us from the start to the end, we just
want to thank you for the wondrous things you have showered upon
us. Jesus, our Good Shepherd, help us to listen to your voice and follow
you wherever you are leading us to this week. Father, may we walk
according to the word that has been preached to us today so that we
can be light to the world. Give us discernment that we may not follow
the voice of a stranger. In Jesus’ name, we pray, AMEN.
