Design of Column: Axial Stress 0.1fck

1. The document summarizes the design of a column with dimensions of 600mm x 500mm x 3048mm height that is subjected to an axial load of 3870.98 kN and moments. 2. The column is designed as a short column with grade M25 concrete and Fe500 steel reinforcement. 3. The column section is designed to resist the factored axial load and biaxial bending moments using SP-16 interaction diagrams, with 12 numbers of 30mm diameter longitudinal bars provided. Transverse ties of 10mm diameter spaced at 300mm are also designed.

SP 16 Chart assuming for the value of d'/Dx= 0.1166667

Pu/(fck*Dx*Dy) = 0.516

Pt/fck = 0.1 interaction
So, Pt = 2.5 % diagrm chart 48
Sp 16 Chart for d'/Dx = 0.117 and Pt/fck = 0.113

So, Muy1 = 412.5 kNm
IS 456:4000 Puz = 0.45fck*Ag + 0.75fy*As = 5709.375 kN
