BASIC CALCULUS 5th

This document provides a lesson on calculating limits of exponential, logarithmic, and trigonometric functions. It includes examples of evaluating limits of these functions by constructing tables of values near the limit point. Students are asked to solve limits using substitution or by analyzing graphs, and to graph their own exponential, logarithmic, and trigonometric functions. The document aims to reinforce concepts of limits through multiple practice activities.

Real-world situations can be expressed in terms of functional relationships. These
functional relationships are called mathematical models. In applications of calculus, it is
quite important that one can generate these mathematical models.

They sometimes use functions that you encountered in pre-calculus, like the
exponential, logarithmic, and trigonometric functions. Hence, we start this lesson by
recalling these functions and their corresponding graphs.
