Product Performance
In accordance with the provisions of AS/ANZ 4600: 1996 cold formed steel structure, our C and Z Purlins will perform as
specified design, fabrication and erection are carried out in accordance with accepted building practices.

Holes & Cleat Details

C and Z purlins are supplied with holes punched (to builder’s requirements) with recommended holes and cleat details as shown
in below illustration.
The Purlin are designed based on the web to cleat connection of sections.
Note:
*It is necessary to have the top flange of the purlins up to slop. This minimizes any rotational tendencies of the purlins.
*D: Purlin Depth
*10 standard hole punch per price: Additional hole punch subject to additional charges.

Lapping Detail / Lapped Configuration

To provide sufficient structural continuity, each end of the lap requires one bolt through the webs. Nominal length is the
distance between bolt centers at the end of the laps. Laps vary in length with both section size and span. Minimum lap
should be 10% of the span.
*Note: Flange punch holes are available for Z200 series and larger.
Please contact Ghosh Metal for details.

Bolt Details
Bolts are usually M12, M16 (Grade 4.6)

Application
C Purlin can be used in single or continuous spans but cannot be lapped. Z purlins can be used in single or continuous spans
(Lapped or Un lapped). Lapped continuous spans will increase purlins loading capacity.

Custom Cut
Ghosh Metal’s high tensile purlins are available in custom – cut lengths. Special transportation arrangement and on site
handling equipment are required for purlin lengths more than 12 Meter.

Packing & Transportation

Ghosh Metal purlins are packed in bundles with weight generally less than 1500kg and strapped with metal strips. Special
packing for export requirements are provided upon request.

GMI-fencing

GMI Fencing panels are manufactured as per standard specification or as per specific client requirement. GMI Fencing panels are
available in stock in our Ajman factory. Steel Fencing sheets are manufactured using high quality profile sheets of 35/200 Profile. These
steel sheets can be prepared in multiple colors as per RAL coding system.

GMI Fencing panels have a standard height of 2 Meters with width of 2 Meters. Thickness most commonly used is 0.4mm, we can make
available from 0.3-0.7mm thick profile sheets and channels most commonly of 1.5mm ranging in between 1.2-2.0mm thick as per client
requirement.

Galvanized U Channel is used to mount the fencing and a back support of Galvanized steel pipe is provided with concrete block of size
200x400x600 weighing 95 kgs.

All other fittings like clamp and nut bolt are hot-dipped galvanized for rust & corrosion protection.
