Distribution of Emergencies Supplies (DES)
Palleted, loaded, delivered, and distributed emergency relief supplies to communities hardest hit by hurricanes and flooding.
Coordinated community member involvement of supply distribution and recorded contacts, unmet needs, numbers of households
served, and service saturation estimates.
Latino Community Engagement/Partnerships (CEP) September 13 – 20, 2020
Joined with Community Engagement and Partnerships branch of the American Red Cross and nongovernmental stakeholders to
serve the affected Latino community of Southwest Louisiana and East Texas. Tailored disaster recovery service to community’s
unique needs and concerns to provide customized care and meet clients by means considerate of their specific needs, culture, and
language.
DR 523-21: Residential Gas Explosion – Baltimore, Maryland August 11 – 17, 2020
Recovery and Casework (REC) in Spanish & English
Immediately mobilized in coordination with Baltimore Fire, Police, and Office of Emergency Management to provide mass care,
counselling, and recovery for the affected neighborhood. Door-to-door canvassing of neighborhood to assess damage, collect data,
make contact, catalog unmet needs, connect clients to available medical, emotional, spiritual, legal, and financial services offered by
the American Red Cross, the City of Baltimore, and the State of Maryland.

Disaster Assessment (DA)
Investigated, cataloged, and georeferenced storm damage in-the-field according to interagency preliminary reports of affected
property. Operated mobile data collection team to provide the Red Cross Information & Planning sector with observations, structure
identification, FEMA damage categorization, timestamps, addresses, and geocodes.

Disaster Cycle Services
Responds to crises of all scales - from house fires to natural disasters - to rapidly deliver humanitarian aid, support victims, assist first
responders, and coordinate efforts with government agencies, private partners, fellow VOAD organizations, and the community of
the Greater Washington DC region. Following major events, our volunteers often deploy across the nation to provide an array of
surge response and recovery services for overwhelmed regional offices.
