Joven Fibonacci

The document discusses the Fibonacci sequence and provides examples of working through problems related to finding terms in the sequence. It asks students to identify the next three terms of two sequences. It also asks students to find the 19th term and solve a problem involving the 22nd, 23rd, and 24th terms. Finally, it prompts students to give examples of Fibonacci numbers appearing in nature.

Activity 2
FIBONACCI SEQUENCE

Analyze the given sequence for its rule and identify the next three terms.

1.  16, 32, 64, 128, 192, 320, 512

2. 1, 1, 2, 3, 5, 8, 13, 21, 34

Let Fib (n) be the nth term in the Fibonacci sequence , with Fib (1) = 1, Fib(2) = 1,
 Fib (3) = 2, and so on.

3. Find Fib (19)

Solution:
F19 = F19-1 + F19-2
= F17 + F18
= 1,597 + 2584
F19 = 4,181

3. If Fib (22) = 17, 711 and Fib(24)=46,368, what is Fib(23)?

Solution:
F23 = F23-1 – F23-2
= F24 - F22
= 46,368 - 17,711
F23 = 28,657

6. Look for Fibonacci numbers in objects from nature. Give at least 2 examples.

The Fibonacci numbers in the objects are :

1,1 ,2 ,3, 5, 8, 13, 21 1, 1, 2, 3, 5, 8, 13, 21, 34
