LDM 2 Module 1 Orientation
The Teacher provided us a walkthrough in the following feature of the Module 1;
1.Course Overview
1.In this stage , the LAC Facilitator discusses the reason of having the walkthrough of the
Learning Delivery Modalities Course.
2.This also discusses the effect of the COVID-19 pandemic of having a new normal most
specifically in the field of education.
3.It also provides a summary of the different plans implemented by the Department of
Education such as the formulation of the Basic Education Learning Continuity Plan
(LCP).
This figure summarizes the over - all framework of LCP for Teachers and School Leaders.
ACTIVITY 3
Look for a colleague with whom you would like to discuss your answers and reflections with
the questions in Activities 1 and 2.
Learning action cell plays a vital role in improving professional development and it
supports the continuing professional development of teaching personnel. The delivery
modality of this course is different from the usual in-service training we had before.
LAC sessions now were conducted via online platform. As we go through with this
course, we had face challenges and obstacles but the collaboration and cooperation of
each member of our LAC group, we were be able to manage those challenges.
LESSON 2: ORGANIZING YOUR LEARNING ACTION CELL (LAC)
ACTIVITY 1
Begin by refreshing your memory on the LAC. Read DO No.35, s.2016.
Once you’re done, answer the following questions. Write your responses and any other ideas
and reflections in this Study Notebook.
1. Reflect on the objectives for conducting LAC sessions in DO 35, s.2016. Rank the
following objectives from easiest to the most difficult to achieve:
1. What are the top three challenges to having a successful LAC? List down and elaborate.
Distance between the LAC Members
Since we are working from home, distance between the members of the LAC group is a
challenge on having a successful LAC. There might be problems in communicating
with each other which may lead to misunderstanding.
Unstable internet connection
LAC should be done using online platforms to not put the health and safety of the
teachers at risk, it requires us to have a stable internet connection. Not all teachers have
stable connection because most of us use mobile data in connecting to the internet, and
the state of signal transmission in our place is not good.
Scheduling of LAC Sessions
Aside from completing this course, we have other activities that need to be done in
preparation for the upcoming school year. Scheduling of LAC sessions may be difficult
because there can be a conflict with other schedule such as attending webinars.
