Question 1
Reflect on what you learned about the concept of emotional intelligence based on
what you read in your textbook and online. Based on your results with the EI tools,
what would you consider to be your strengths and weaknesses with respect to
emotional intelligence? Discuss the concept with a loved one, friend, or trusted
colleague. What are their perceptions with respect to your self-appraisal?
Your Answer:
Doing the emotional intelligence test made me realize that I tend to put myself in
other peoples shoes. I score good in the test, it explain how it seems that I am able to
work good under pressure and there is always room for improvement.
Speaking with my loved one, we both agree that I try to not stress out easily. We both
agree that you are stress out, you tend to stress the people surrounding you and you do
not want that in your work place.
I do know that even though work can be hectic, you have to remember what I am
grateful and it matches with my workplace, it can have me at ease. For instance, goals
will be meet whenever there is a day line but if we are doing it because it is just work
and we do not believe in it as well, it starts to build more stress, angry towards it. It
was just make it worst.
Question 2
What did you think of the "Radical Experiment in Empathy" video? Were you able to
“step outside of your thoughts and behavioral patterns” and reserve a part of your
mental capacity to “listen” to and monitor your internal reactions as a means of
gaining a deeper insight into the nature of yourself? What’s your perspective on this
notion of “self-awareness” in the present moment as a tool to learn more about
yourself? Was this “radical experiment” an effective one in terms of helping you
understand the concept of empathy?

Make some connections between the “Radical Experiment in Empathy” TED Talk
and the ideas you have been reading and learning about this week. Be sure to
describe your connections carefully and use in-text cites as applicable.
Your Answer:
Reflecting back into the "Radical Experiment in Empathy" video, it made me take a
step back and realized in the word we are surround by. It was emotional, heart ache to
watch because of how we tend to just judge people instantly without giving them a
chance. I did not hold anger at any given point during the video because I do put
myself in their shoes and think how it would make me feel and how I would want
people to treat me,
When they were talking about the Christians Church for the army, how they
"influence" the children but they treat them as adults in academy, talking about gun,
and making them do drills of boot camp. Thinking back, I do believe this video has
effective me towards a positive way because the situation will be there but overall it is
not my situation. I think about how it would feel if I were in that position. Good
video, definitely made me take a step outside my comfort zone to reflect what the
speaker was saying.
Question 3
Your Answer:
Watching the video of "Stress Portrait of a Killer" grabbed my attention the most was
talking about the different type of stress and how people tend to deal with it
differently. I never really thought of having stress in a bad way and fun way.
Reflecting on his comment, it does make me realize that we deal with stress on the
daily whether for good or bad.
Being at work has stress on me when learning something new. It builds anxiety stress

because I am afraid to not be able to get the hang of it or simply making mistakes that
aren't fixable. For instance, lately we been dealing with a new programming in our
work place and it has build a lot stress into me because I am learning a new program
and trying to understand it, another part of me has stress because of the patient wait
and having the tension in the back of my mind of doing something wrong.
At the end of the day, I do try to relax and remind myself that the next day will be
better. Another day to try again, I also have to remind myself to not be so hard on
myself and it is ok to not know everything every time.
