Changes DC-Cantilever For Windows Date Version Change
Nov. 17 6.00 Graphic functions for drawing and labelling in the graphics, separate handling of graphics
elements in the input window (displayed in every geometry graphics) and single result
graphics (displayed only in this page), DXF import with support of layers to use the
graphics as a background for the input of elements.
July 17 5.47 Revision of the verification of stability in LS EQU with better separation of the
concentrated loads on the wall for the component Ed,dst.
Jan. 17 5.44 Correct application of the minimum earth pressure with the subst. friction angle also for
slopes.
Jan. 17 5.43 For the design of the foundation we have to apply the soil pressure from the calculation with
earth pressure for wall design. If the soil pressure is not effective over the complete width of
the foundation, this has to be considered when calculating the bending moment in the
foundation. In such cases, the bending moment in the foundation spur at the supported side
may change.
Dec. 16 5.42 For a vertical spur, when checking if a failure surface below the earth block in front of the
spur is critical for the stability against sliding, the friction below the base + passive earth
pressure in front of the spur has to be compared with the friction below the soil block +
passive earth pressure in front of the footing.
Nov. 16 5.41 For the compaction earth pressure the increase from 0 to the full value at the depth z,p is
considered acc. to DIN 4085:2011, 6.6.1 formula (82).
Oct. 16 5.40 Italian program version available. For the verfication against tilting and static equilibrium
(EQU) the degree of utilization is printed.
Oct. 16 5.31 Correction of the destabilizing effect E,d,dst for the stability verification EQU (no correct
separation between dst and stb effect since version 5.26).
July 16 5.30 Support of the T2W interface for import and restart of projects in VCmaster.
July 16 5.27 The approach that slopes in the excavation outside of the passive slip plane (inclined under
theta,p from the toe of the wall) are not applied for the calculation of the passive earth
pressure, is restricted: for a lower excavation level at a greater distance from the wall and
especially for a toe of the wall above the maximum excavation level, other more
unfavorable slip planes are possible. In this case the slope is applied for the passive earth
pressure. In addition, theta,p is calculated more exactly (with application of delta,p).
June 16 5.26 For the verification against overturning acc. to SIA 267, especially for earth pressure loads
the safety factor is not 1.10 for unfavorable permanent loads for LS type 1, but 1.35 (see SIA
260 table 1).
Mar. 16 5.24 Correction of the compaction earth pressure for active and increased active earth pressure: is
was not applied correctly since version 5.22.
Dez. 15 5.22 If directly behind the wall there is a vertical falling slope (no soil to apply no earth pressure
in this area), a compression earth pressure is applied only from this depth as well.
Nov. 15 5.20 For earthquake analysis acc. to SIA 267 the safety factors 1.20 and 1.50 for tan(phi) and c
from SIA are valid instead of the values 1.25 of and 1.40 acc. to Eurocode 8.
Oct. 15 5.18 The new safety factor for flow forces acc. to the change DIN 1054/A2:2015-11 are
available. For already existing project files the new values are only used if the standard is
selected again. For the Eurocode 7 settings the selection of Eurocode 7 should be done once
as well.
Oct. 15 5.17 The compaction earth pressure is now compared with the earth pressure incl. uploads. The
earth pressure from uploads is not added any more to the compaction earth pressure. The
newer ZTV-Ing form (state of 2012) is available (if the option DCZTVK exists). If “ZTVK
form” is selected in the menu Project and the older version of the form is present, the new
one may be selected with Settings - Header ZTVK – „create standard header again”.
Sep. 15 5.15 In the graphics-based output a function „Find“ (menu item Edit - Find or shortcut Ctrl-F)
and a function „Goto“ (View – Goto or Ctrl-G) to jump to specific load cases and
construction phases are available. Improvement for the bearing capacity analysis with
earthquake loads, if the average values of phi and c are > 0.
Aug. 15 5.14 If for the verification of sliding with a vertical spur the friction below the soil block in front
of the spur is critical, a more detailed description of the components is printed in the results.
The weight of the vertical spur is considered.
Aug. 15 5.13 For block loads with small distance to the wall (inclination between front edge of the load
and wall toe > theta), for increased active earth pressure the active earth pressure load is
applied acc. to EAB R 22 (higher total load than for the component from earth pressure at
rest). This option may be switched off under Project – Parameters. The angle of the slip
surface theta is calculated more exactly depending on the angle of internal friction phi, wall
friction angle delta and wall inclination alpha, because the approximation of 45° + phi/2 is
only valid for delta = alpha = 0.
July 15 5.12 For the slope stability analysis we have to use the soil pressure without base water pressure
for the upload on the lamellae below the foundation, because the pore water pressure below
the lamellae is applied additionally.
June 15 5.10 For smaller walls the precision of the analysis of slope stability is increased (lamellae width
and step size for the iteration).
May 15 5.08 For a sheet pile wall below the footing, slip circles going below the sheet pile wall have to
be calculated separately to find the minimum safety. For analysis acc. to SIA the
verification of bearing capacity is done independent from the permitted soil pressure,
because the base normal stress is unknown at this time.
Jan. 15 5.03 If in front of a vertical spur the friction below the soil block down to the spur’s bottom is
critical instead of the passive earth pressure, we must not apply the friction below the base
of the footing in this area. If the application of the passive earth pressure in front of the wall
is switched off, the passive earth pressure in front of the soil block at the vertical spur is
calculated only with an upload from the base of the footing.
Dec. 14 5.00 Support of earthquake loads with analysis acc. to Eurocode 8-5 (Mononobe-Okabe).
Nov. 14 4.314 If Eurocode 2 for Great Britain is selected for the design, the steel types for British Standard
are available.
July 14 4.38 For the analysis of the safety against sliding for undrained soil (base friction angle = 0) the
resistance is calculated as R = c,u * A‘.
July 14 4.37 The eccentricity of the resulting base force is printed additionally with the section forces in
the base.
May 14 4.36 For walls with a foundation spur at the supported side and without cantilever plates the
substitutive wall under theta,a‘ for the earth pressure used in the stability analysis is
displayed in the result geometry.
Apr. 14 4.35 Consideration of the National Annex for Eurocode 7 for Italy, where some special
definitions of NTC 2008 are not contained any more.
Mar. 14 4.34 Acc. to edition 2013 of SIA 267 (12.5.2.4), favorable permanent loads are not applied any
more with a factor of 0.80, but with 1.00. For available project files the former setting is
conserved. If the standard SIA 267 is selected again, the new factor is set.
Jan. 14 4.32 For analysis acc. to SIA 267 the eccentricity and load inclination for bearing capacity have
to be calculated with design values.
May 13 4.19 For bearing capacity analysis acc. to OENORM B 4435-2 (incl. OENORM B 1997-1-1) the
bearing capacity load is the resultant (maybe inclined), not the vertical component.
Improvement for the optimization of the width of the footing.
Apr. 13 4.17 Acc. to SIA 267, 8.5.2.1 the partial factor gamma,R for bearing capacity and sliding may be
set to 1.0, because we use an approved analysis approach. The value is changed when the
analysis standard is selected again. For OENORM B 4435-2 the use oft he ground
inclination coefficient g,c is corrected.
Mar. 13 4.15 For the verification of safety against sliding, we do as well one calculation for permanent
loads alone and one calculation for total loads (like for the verification against overturning).
If the verification for permanent loads alone is the critical one, this is noted in the result
output.
Jan. 13 4.13 Improvement for the definition of safety factors for individual loads which are different
from the standard value acc. to the selected analysis standard.
Dec. 12 4.12 For the friction angle at the base for sliding analysis we use the value of 2/3phi if no input
value is defined. If there is a base inclination, we use the angle of internal friction of the soil
phi in the subst. friction plane. For an inclined base, we use the smaller value of the soil
layers at the front and rear base point for the calculation of the friction, for the subst. sliding
plane the value for the soil layer at the deepest point.
Dec. 12 4.11 Consideration of the minimum reinforcement for ductile component behavior for DIN EN
1992
Nov. 12 4.10 Full support of Eurocode 2 and 3 with definition of all the nationally defined parameters
(NDPs) for any country. Support of DIN 4085:2011 instead of 2007. Like in MS Word and
other programs scrolling is now possible by using the mouse wheel, the zoom function is
used with Ctrl-mouse wheel.
June 12 4.00 Full support of Eurocode 7 with all the 3 Design Approaches. Predefined settings for
Eurocode 7 (proposed values), Germany (DIN EN 1997-1 with DIN 1054:2010), Austria
(OENORM B 1997-1-1), France (NF EN 1997-1), Great Britain (BS EN 1997-1), Italy
(UNI EN 1997-1 with NTC 2008) and Spain (UNE EN 1997-1 with DB SE-C). Settings for
any country are possible with free selection of the Design Approach and the groups of safety
factors.
Selection of the design situation for self-weight only, if there is no load case available (in
Project – Parameters).
Romanian program version available.
Aug. 11 3.37 The factor for the passive earth pressure which may be defined for the construction phase
(e.g. use of 50%) is no more multiplied with the factor for the activated characteristic
passive earth pressure, but the minimum of both factors is used. Otherwise e.g. for the
calculation of the bearing capacity, less than the defined part of the passive earth pressure
might be used.
July 11 3.35 Correction for concentrated loads with inlined wall axis – affects only program version
3.34.
Mai 11 3.34 Concentrated loads are applied with their components in longitudinal and lateral direction to
the axis for inclined walls.
Apr. 11 3.32 For overturning check with dead loads: consideration of concentrated loads and uploads on
the spur.
Mar. 11 3.30 If there are live loads, the overturning check is done for dead loads and for total loads
separately. At the end of the output, we print a summary to show if all checks are fulfilled.
Okt. 10 3.24 Slopes at the excavated side are only used for the passive earth pressure if they begin within
the passive slip surface (line from the front edge of the footing inclined by theta,p).

ground surface: δ0 = 0 has to be used.
Apr. 10 3.11 Optimisation of the portion of passive earth pressure to apply and optimisation of the
footing width at one time is improved: in the optimisation of the width the optimised passive
earth pressure has to be consideren. Labelling of the depth of layers in the result graphics.
Apr. 10 3.10 Calculation of the earth pressure acc. to DIN 4085:2007 and acc. to OENORM B 4434

July 07 2.61 As for the design of the footing the soil pressures from the earth pressure for wall design are
used, these soil pressures are printed separately.
In the design of the wall the minimum reinforcement is printed.
In the setting of the analysis standard there is a separate setting for bearing capacity analysis
for free standard definitions. Acc. to OENORM B 4435-2 e.g. we have to use load safety
