FARADAY innovative technology allows all X1
Series intelligent interface modules to be pro-
grammed by using the 8720 Device Programming/
Test Unit. The 8720 is a compact, portable, menu
driven accessory that makes programming and
testing an interface device faster, easier and more
dependable than previous methods. The 8720
eliminates the need for mechanical addressing
mechanisms, such as program jumpers, DIP
switches or rotary dials, because the 8720 electroni-
cally sets the address into the interface’s micro-
computer chip nonvolatile memory. Vibration,
corrosion and other conditions that deteriorate
mechanical addressing mechanisms are no longer
a cause for concern.
The X1 Series modules are fitted with screw
terminals for connection to an addressable circuit.
The X1 Series modules are fully compatible
on the same circuit with intelligent detectors,
addressable manual stations or other addressable
intelligent modules.
All X1 Series intelligent interface modules are
UL listed.
