Review for the article Indian culture in the late Delhi Sultanate:
This article first give the important points of the Delhi sultanate from its flourishing state. Also
mentioned about the most flourishing literary centre of the early fifteenth century was Jaunpur.
Here the writer of the article talk about reign of Buhlul shah founder of Afghan dynasty of Lodis,
witnessed by the beginnings of the cultural movement, which was later attained the great
heights by his successors. Then Buhlul shah's successor his son Shikandar shah, his period is
marked as the apex pf literary splendour and cultural achievement of his time was unrivalled for
century's past. There is the special account of Shikandar's literary aptitude, the writer ignores
the small consequence, he portrayed his attitude printed the great place in literary events. And
also mentioned the Sulthanes love towards literature, were the point mentioned by the writer
that sulthane critically comment on the verses of the other poet and he have any doubts in the
verses he have it in his court and he have discussed, explain in court. Then discussed the
Shaik Jamali who is portrayed as the great literary figure and he has the constant devotion of
the pursuit learning which is gradually rose to the distinction. The article not only praised the
sultans and their region it mainly focused on the literary and cultural influence of the sultanates.
In literature there is the three main ideas, theology, history and lexicography. These topics
have the greater attention for the large number of writings in theology and traditions. The well-
known scholar Maulana Ilhdad also wrote voluminous commentary on tradition. The cultural and
literary ideas of the music and dancing. Mostly all the sultans give importance for the all cultural
events. Specially Sikandar shah and his ministers give the most importance for dance and
music. The main development of the region is based on the healthy and exposed life structure.
Here the sultans give one part of importance to the medicine and astronomy. The sultans want
to achieve a cultural point and want to be marked in history.Mian Bhuwa who is the great expert
in language but he not only expert in language but also in knowledge of Indian medicine. He
represented the Shikandar that care of national health depended on the collection and
dissemination of the information relating to treatment of various ailments.
The culture does not only ends with the literature and arts, it also combined with the general
upliftment of the whole reign. The general accounts of sultan also compared with predominantly
Iranian character of the Persian language under the Mughals, the literature of Afghan period
bears the impress of Indian impact. And the culture spread to whole the country as well as the
world by the translation. The wisdom of Hindu sages and savants was being accessible to
Muslims through translation bureau by Mian Bhuwa. The culture of certain state also include the
happiness of the all class of people this was proved under the topic economic and social life.
There they mentioned the state provided protection to the peasants,workers and servants from
the opression of the masters. And the most valuable life is where the cost of living is low. Here
the cost of living in sultans region is very low.
Everyone's life has the best place for food, even it played the vital role in succession of
kingdom. Here the notable Halwa was pointed as the delicious pudding. The dress and
decoration is notified for the heritage and wealth of the culture. But sultans does not noted
works in dress and decoration and there is a point that these are only mean to luxury. Sultans
