HIGH SCHOOLS AMONG SELECTED PRIVATE SECONDARY INSTITUTIONS IN
PUERTO PRINCESA CITY: AN ASSESSMENT
This study aimed to determine the level of implementation of Anti-Bullying Act in senior
high schools among selected private secondary institutions in Puerto Princesa City. The
descriptive and correlative methods of research were used to determine the significant
correlation between and among variables in the study. Frequency, percentages, t-test and the
Pearson Product Moment Correlation Coefficient r were used to analyze the data.
Majority of the implementers were females between 20 to 30 years old, less than 16
years in the service, baccalaureate degree holders and attended school level trainings.
The level of implementation in terms of policy, intervention program and procedures in
handling bullying incidents were moderately implemented by the respondents. Meanwhile,
prevention programs and school readiness were perceived by implementers to be moderately
implemented ; while the students perceived these as implemented.
Significant relationship existed between the profile of the implementers and the level of
implementation of Anti-Bullying Act in terms of Policy; while in prevention program, significant
relationship existed towards age, gender, length of service and highest degree earned except
trainings attended. In intervention program, significant relationship existed except highest
degree earned and trainings attended while in procedures in handling bullying incidents, the
significant relationship did not exist in terms of length of service, highest degree earned and
trainings attended.
iv
Furthermore, there is a significant relationship between the school readiness and the
level of implementation of anti-bullying program; but, no significant relationship existed between
the problems encountered and the level of implementation.
Moreover, there is no significant difference among the rating of the respondents,
teachers and students on the implementation level of the Anti-Bullying Act of 2013; as well as
on the level of implementation of the Act between students who have experienced bullying and
those who have not.
