Activity 1: Guidelines in Daily Lesson Preparation

1. What is Lesson Designing or Lesson Planning? A teacher's daily


guide for what students need to learn, how it will be
taught, and how learning will be measured.

2. Why is lesson designing important? It is important because it will


help the teacher to be more organize and to maintain a standard in
teaching.

3. What are the 3 elements or components of well-designed lessons?


An effective lesson plan has three basic components; aims and
objectives of the course, teaching and learning activities and,
assessments to check student understanding of the topic.
Activity 2: Parts of the Lesson Plan

In your Study Notebook, copy the following table and fill out:

1. Wrap up activities
2. Review previous lesson
3. Clarify concepts from previous lesson
4. State lesson objectives as guide for learners
5. Provide learners with feedback
6. Present connection between old and new lesson and establish purpose for new lesson

8. Assess whether lesson has been mastered
9. Check for learners’ understanding
10. Explain, model, demonstrate, and illustrate the concepts, ideas, skills, or processes that students will
eventually internalize
11. Help learners understand and master new information

13. Reinforce what teacher has taught
14. Transfer ideas and concepts to new situations
15. Present warm-up activities to establish interest in new lesson
16. Check learner’s prior knowledge about the new lesson

Activity 3: Designing Lessons in Distance Learning


Consider the following guidelines when planning and sequencing learning
tasks for your lesson:

1.Design with your students learning profile in mind.


2. Encourage active learning and students engagement in any
modality.
3. Integrate the use of technology into different parts of the lesson
to support the attainment of the learning objectives.
4. Choose technology that is well suited to the needs of the subject
matter and the students.
5. Provide differentiated instruction.
6. Plan and implement supportive tasks at each phase of the
lesson.
