Using 3D Hologram Technology in Distance Education

Introduction:

At the present situation, out breaking of Covid-19 virus has created a lot of issues in the

educational sector. Now, students are not able to gather together for learning purpose as there is a

high chance of virus contamination. Therefore, the distance education is getting higher

popularity rather than the face to face education during this epidemic period. The distance

education is effective to carry on the learning activities but there are many issues with the

system. In order to make this system more effective, some innovation is highly required in this

area. In this report, the application of 3D hologram technology in distance education has been

discussed.

Scope of the problem:

The current COVID 19 pandemic has influenced practically all nations and has made a huge imp

act on the accessible medical services offices and therapy frameworks. There is a prerequisite for

the acquaintance of different development innovations with tackle different issues identified with

this viral pandemic. 3D hologram technology is otherwise called the fourth modern unrest, which

comprises of advance assembling and data innovations, to satisfy the redid necessity of various t

erritories of the person in lesser time. These advances give remote availability in the assembling

and administration area to improve computerization. In the completely executed situation of 3D

hologram Technology, every one of these innovations are associated, and clinical partners speak
with one another for assembling and utilization of the immunization, medical care gear and coor

dinations, exam, observation, location and choosing essential activities with lesser human physic

al contribution. The correct reports on the social event of individuals are given by the informatio

n caught by the development advances.

The students are now getting connected over the video conferences for meeting with the

teachers and other students. The students are used to shoot their own videos for doing the home

works and submitting the videos with the works. It is getting too hectic for both the students and

teachers. The environment is also not the same like the normal class room environments.

Therefore, the concentrations of the students are also not like the normal class room. The

students are not getting engaged properly with the lessons. Some innovative technology is

required for creating the lesson more attractive and live so that all the students and teachers can

give focus on the education properly.

The innovation:

The innovation that is considered here is the 3D hologram technology in distance

education. Holography refers to the method of getting photographic image in three dimensions.

This technology requires the use of a laser, deflection, light intensity recording, interface and

proper illumination of the recording (Kalansooriya, Marasinghe and Bandara 2015). The

technology was introduced in 1962 but at the present situation the technology has developed

highly and got more accessible. Using the 3D hologram representations now can be used for

interacting distance audience whether a program is being watched from distance, meeting with

people at distance or delivering educational lessons to the students. The figure given below is

illustrating the working strategy of the 3D hologram technology.

Here we can exploit 3DHT in various structures. For instance, visualizations presently pe

rmit understudies to be educated by a "virtual educator" who could be numerous kilometers away.

The cycle goes a stage past video conferencing in that the 3D image instructor gives off an impr

ession of being in the homeroom, and can see and address the understudies as though they were a

ll in a similar room. The framework utilized by Edex, the biggest provider of Internet association

s with the UK training market, at the BETT2000 instructive innovation show in London. Besides

3DHT can upgrade the instructive cycle by rejuvenating celebrated characters again from the pa

st, and they talk about themselves as well as clarify something as an associate instructor.

The learning involvement with schools and universities has gone through a change in outl

ook because of mechanical advancements like computerized study halls, virtual separation learni

ng, and considerably more. With blackboards getting supplanted by intuitive whiteboards at scho

ols and conventional homerooms being supplanted by virtual innovation, we realize that digitaliz

ation is rethinking instruction and preparing. The manner in which instructors educate, however t

he learning experience for understudies is significantly upgraded by advanced innovation. Trend

setting innovation like AI Holograms can bring distant teachers who are subject specialists direct

ly into the advanced homeroom for an enrapturing learning experience.

In spite of the fact that AI-based multi dimensional images in instruction and preparing

are as yet a rising pattern, there are numerous expected favorable circumstances in receiving this

innovation. Here are a portion of the likely uses of AI Holograms in instruction and preparing:

 Particular Training from Remote Instructors: Holograms can have specialists showing or

clarifying basic subjects live, face to face, in 3D. A specialist can show a surgery to
clinical understudies live, face to face, without really being there. Car specialists can

exhibit motor highlights or liquid elements explores that can be directed in 3D utilizing

AI-multi dimensional image innovation. Simulated intelligence Holograms present

prospects of intuitive and vivid learning.

 Interface geologically dissipated homerooms: Expert multi dimensional image based

learning sans area imperatives is another bit of leeway of AI Holograms. A homeroom of

Spanish talking understudies can collaborate with a study hall of English talking

understudies by taking part in genuine discussions and 3D sharing time learning.

Holographic telepresence can add an entirely different measurement to instruction and

preparing by pushing geographic limits.

 Talks over various homerooms: A specialist, sought after instructor can convey addresses

all the while across study halls situated at various areas with multi dimensional image

innovation.

 Learning by being "in there": A genuinely charming holographic learning experience can

ship the understudies to a distant area (for all intents and purposes however!).

 Intelligent and Immersive Instructional substance: The instructional substance for

holographic can be created according to our creative mind. Teachers can utilize their

inventive abilities to rejuvenate the substance.

Ability of solving the problems:

3D hologram technology can help to view the same things among different locations at

the same time. It can sense more than one announcer at the same time with the realistic views of

the announcers. These features can be used as the main advantages to solve the problems are

occurring in the distance learning (Ghuloum 2010). This is a disruptive innovation. According to

the disruption innovation model, this will be higher quality products to satisfy the high end of the

market, accordingly this would overshoot the needs of low end customer as well as mainstream

customers. The problem solving abilities are described and analyzed in the section below:

Ability of offering convincing and realistic view of the user: Both the teachers and the

students will be able to communicate and interact with each other with a realistic view. It will be

more effective to get the learning lessons. The realistic views of the study materials will also

help the students to learn properly.

Ability of communicating users in different locations: All the students will be able to

see their teachers giving lectures in front of them. The teacher will be able to appear just like the

classroom. The students from different locations will be able to take the same lecture at the same

time.

Ability of attractive and efficient communication: The communication between the

teacher and student will be more attractive and efficient than the normal video conference that

are currently using in the distance learning.

Project Plan:

In order to use the 3D hologram technology for creating the virtual classroom

environment, first thing that needs to be done is to provide the necessary equipment at the homes
of the students and the teachers. Then the users will be able to use the systems for attending the

distance classes.

The project will be completed by the following steps:

Step 1: Creation of the hologram systems

Step 2: Delivering the systems to the students and the teachers

Step 3: Taking regular follow up of the devices

In a holographic presentation, which is lit up by a laser, every pixel of the showcase

conveys light waves – the period of the light wave is regulated by driving the showcase.

Changing the stage essentially is a characterized postponement of light from one pixel contrasted

with different pixels. One can do this for example with a reasonable LCD.

By picking certain stage esteems for neighboring pixels at that point, like shining light

with a focal point, light waves from these pixels can be made to meddle helpfully at specific

situations in space. At those positions light from every one of those pixels summarizes so as to

produce a brilliant point in space – a 3D pixel on the off chance that you like. The 3D space seen

from an eyewitness position towards the holographic showcase and past can be totally loaded up

with 3D pixels at any profundity position in front or behind the physical presentation screen, all

in a similar high goal you know from HDTV. So unique in relation to different sorts of

showcases that create level pictures on the screen, for holography it is conceivable to truly

produce 3D focuses in space, each with its own shading and splendor.
Practical application of 3D holograms in different areas:

Besides the election campaigns the 3D holograms are also used for the purpose of

broadcasting the results as well. For example the announcer of the results can be beamed up into

a certain studio which would provide a very much realistic view (Themelis and Sime 2020). This

type of events generally attracts millions of viewers just only for watching the hologram effect

by means of YouTube clips. This use of hologram gives a very realistic view of the announcers

when they give out the results.

Another major example of use of 3D hologram includes the Beaming of different kind of

performance. One such example is the Performance of Michel Jackson that was performed on

Billboard Music Awards in the year of 2014 (Juan et al. 2015). The performance was attractive

and creative as the famous character was alive in front of the audiences.

Conclusion:

It can be concluded that the 3D hologram technology is an efficient one for distance

education. However, the infrastructure development is quite difficult and engaged with high

development cost. There is a significant difference between the traditional method of distance

classes and the 3D hologram virtual classes. It can be concluded that the 3D hologram

classrooms enhance the real time experience of students through 3D perceptual effects and is an

effective mode of delivery in both theoretical and practical subject content.

Education is changing; more classes are being taken on the web. Online homerooms present

better open doors for rustic understudies to get to learning without physical admittance to

organizations. Holographic innovation could be a major worth expansion to distant, hands-on

learning by mimicking learning situations for better understanding and maintenance of ideas.
Holographic projection advancements will be favored by teachers and understudies the same for

a charming learning experience. Visualizations in instruction empower the sharing of specific

directions and augmenting the accessibility of corporate preparing and confirmation.
