Technical Writing and Presentation: No Question/ Task Answer Note
This slide presents work on modeling and simulating a unipolar pulse-width modulation (PWM) scheme applied to a single-phase DC-AC converter. The converter uses a full-bridge inverter with insulated-gate bipolar transistors (IGBTs) to generate a desired sinusoidal output voltage. Simulation results show the output voltage and current waveforms are exceptionally smooth after filtering, with the unipolar PWM scheme reducing common-mode electromagnetic interference noise by only switching the output at the fundamental frequency.

1. The main objective Modelling and Simulation of Unipolar Pulse-width of the slide is modulation (PWM)Scheme on a Single Phase DC-AC Converter 2. List out the Technical terms: technical terms, full-bridge inverter, key words in the Insulatedgate-bipolar transistor, IGBT paper modified unipolar Key words: PWM Schemes; DC-AC Converter 3. Abstract and Pulse-width modulation (PWM) of a signal or introduction powersource involves the modulation of its duty cycle, to either convey information over a communications channel or control the amount of power sent to a load. This slide presents work on modelling and simulation of unipolar PWM applied to a single phase DC-AC converter (inverter) as switching control schemes. The inverter and its LC filters component value are fixed and carefully selected by considering their volumes and prices. 4. Main Content A typical full-bridge DC-AC converter is shown in Fig. 1. The inverter consists of two legs and supplies a single-phase AC output voltage Vout to the load. A certain switching algorithm can be applied to each of the four switch modules T1, T2, T3, and T4 in order to control the inverter to generate desired sinusoidal output with desired frequency and magnitude. Among the practical switching schemes, Pulse Width Modulation (PWM) is classical and most widely used. In this case, the high order harmonics are removed by using LC filter.Figure 2.Unipolar PWM inductor current, load output current and load output voltage waveforms.Figure 3. Output voltage waveforms before and after filtering.Figure 4.Output current waveforms before and after filtering. The voltage and current output is seen that the output waveform is exceptionally smooth and cleaned. 5. Conclusion Digital simulation on PSIM successfully evaluated the feasibility and performance of the unipolar PWM modulation approach for single-phase DC-AC power converter. As demonstrated and analyzed, the unipolar PWM scheme has an advantage in the reduction of common-mode EMI noise because the output voltage lines of this scheme is switched only at the fundamental frequency. Therefore, the related EMI noise is reduced.
