I. UNIVERSITY VISION

The Technological University of the Philippines shall be the premier state university with
recognized excellence in engineering and technology education at par with the leading universities
in the ASEAN region.

II. UNIVERSITY MISSION

The Technological University of the Philippines shall provide higher and advanced vocational,
technical, industrial, technological and professional education and training in industries and
technology, and in practical arts leading to certificates, diplomas and degrees. It shall provide
progressive leadership in applied research, developmental studies in technical, industrial, and
technological fields and production using indigenous materials; effect technology transfer in the
countryside; and assist in the development of small-and-medium scale industries in identified
growth centers.

III. COLLEGE GOALS

1. To produce high quality engineers equipped with proper values, knowledge and skill
relevant to the changing needs and conditions.
2. To provide continuing graduate education to engineers who wish to pursue higher and
advanced learning in their field of specialization.
3. To produce valuable research outputs and render quality extension services in the
various areas of engineering and engineering education.

V. DEPARTMENT OBJECTIVES

1. To provide the students an advanced knowledge in various major in science and civil
engineering.
2. To provide the students an in-depth understanding of the civil engineering processes.
3. To develop students’ ability to integrate new computing tools in civil engineering
processes.
4. Create awareness of ethical issues in civil engineering processes on ethical, moral and
social issues in civil engineering.
5. To prepare civil engineering graduates to conduct scientific research.

e) Course Description : The course emphasizes the familiarization of the properties
of common liquids in the study of Fluid Mechanics and
Hydraulics. Application of fundamental principles to solve
problems involving liquid pressure corresponding forces
resulting from this pressure.
f) Credit : 2 Units for Lec, 1 Unit for Lab
g) Class schedule : 5 hours per week
