How To Float Part 1

Archimedes' Principle states that the buoyant force on an object submerged in a fluid is equal to the weight of the fluid displaced by the object. When the buoyant force equals the gravitational force pulling the object down, the object will float. A body's density determines how much it floats, as less dense objects displace more fluid and experience greater buoyancy. People can float more easily by controlling their center of buoyancy through lung inflation and body positioning while swimming.
