Objectives of the course:

 To present the student with an overall view of the decision-making process as it


relates to the major areas of Production/Operations Management.
 To expose the students to the use of the mathematical tools in solving a few
operational problems such as scheduling, forecasting, inventory control, Project
management etc.
 Demonstrate a basic understanding of product and service design.
 Demonstrate the importance of facility layouts.
 Apply techniques to measure and manage quality control.
 Demonstrate a basic understanding of the problems involved in inventory
management.
 Demonstrate an understanding of the principles underlying materials requirements
