Online Food Ordering Application

1.0 Rationale

Online Food Ordering Application is beneficial for ordering food from


home and in fastest way and as a software it will help in developing user
interaction to the system with simple GUI. It will help in developing Android
Applications using android studio.

2.0 Aims/Benefits of the Micro-Project.

To develop Online Food Ordering Application and perform operations on


UI elements as well as perform operations on database.

3.0 Course Outcomes Addressed

a) Interpret features of Android OS & Configure android environment &


development tools.
b) Develop rich user interfaces by using layout & controls.
c) Use user interface components for android application development.
d) Develop android application and Publish Android applications

4.0 Literature Review:


The present online ordering food economy allow users to apply a single tap
of their mobile phone to order from a wide array of restaurants, so the team
want to checking some literature to understanding in what reason online food
delivery are quite important for people in this century. this section should
situates the team research ,which is need focus on the wider academic
community in the online ordering food and to identify the gap within that the
literature that the research will be need to address. and the main purpose of
literature review is that combine with understanding of each work, point that
in which way could fulfilling the need for other research, and located the team
own design in the background of existing literature is the most significant
point (Ridley and Diana, 2012), through the further study of tracing the
intellectual progressing, the team could ability to accumulate the methods of
research and study in the literature, and it also as a basic step to be contrast
consider and analysis the existing system, and give the positive feedback
about the problem that existing system could not be solve it. Hence, following
parts will through APP design integrity, specification, use requirement,
common issues and emerging technology to analysis the role of online food
delivery system in markets.

5.0 Actual Methodology Followed:

Online Food Ordering Application is developed with functionalities such


as Splash Screen, User Login, User Registration, Food Categories, Select a food
to order, order details, Submit Order.

Splash Screen:
Splash Screen is the first screen visible to user when the application is
launched. It displays some animation with name of application and also displays
the Sign Up and Sign In buttons.

User Login:

In this activity user can login. This is activity which providing personalized
access and services to each user. The user can login the application using the user
name and password. User credentials will be verified with database table login.

User Registration:

In this activity user can register if not already registered. User is registered
by accepting the information such as their Name and Password. All the
information entered by users will be inserted into the database table login for
further verification.

Food Categories:

In this activity user can see the categories of available foods which makes
simplify to user to find which category food they want. The available food
categories in application such as Fast Food, Sea Food, Italian Food, Continental
Food, Traditional Food and Chinese Food.

Select the food to order:

This activity appears when user select a food category. It displays the list
of food respect to the category of food. It displays food with photo, price and also
provide plus and minus buttons to set the quantity of food. When user click on
the Add to Cart Button the order is added to the cart.

Order Details:

In this activity user can see their food ordering cart. It displays the selected
food list with some information such as id of order, name of food, quantity of
food and total price of food.

Submit Order:

In this activity user can submit the order of food. When user clicked on this
option the order is submitted to the restaurant via the mail.
