Introduction to the Oil & Gas Industry

Introductory Course

Summary:
The Petroleum Industry is a complex mixture of technical and non-technical disciplines.
This course is designed to provide non-engineering petroleum industry technical professionals
with a thorough overview of most key aspects of petroleum engineering technology and its
applications.
The course addresses engineering issues ranging from initial involvement with exploration,
reserves evaluation, field development, production optimization, and all the aspects of well drilling.
The sessions will focus on relevant and practical issues; including real case studies.
The course will provide an overview of the key aspects of the upstream and downstream of
petroleum industry, including petroleum Geology, exploration, risk factors, drilling, production,
treatment, reserve estimations and the history of the oil industry.

Who Should Attend

The course is designed for anyone in the oil and gas industry who does not have a geological background.
Previous attendees include:
 Petroleum engineers, geophysicists, etc.
 Non-technical managers, accounting, IT, land, PR and administrative assistants.
 also it will be very interesting for:-
 Chemical Engineering students.
 Petrochemical engineering students.
 Petro physic section of faculty of science.
 Mechanical engineering students.
 Petroleum and Mining engineering students.
 Geology section of faculty of science.
 All technical and non-technical students hoping to join oil and gas companies.

The basis for the seminar is that every individual involved in the industry is requested to provide a basic
service. It is therefore important that they understand the whole picture to realize where they fit and the
significance of their contribution in terms of their company’s objectives. The knowledge learned from this
seminar is immediately transferable to the working environment.

Duration
Five classroom days providing 30 Hrs (Continuing Education Credits).

Instructor Eng. El sayed Amer
