1. A credit union has issued a 3-year loan of P50000 at an anuall rate of 10%. How
much will be paid at the end of the third year?
2. A P5000 savings account earned P700 interest in 2 years. What is the yearly rate of
interest?
3. Eugene needs P20000 to buy office furniture for his new office in Quezon City. He
wants to limit the interest he will pay when he borrows the amount from a bank to
P1100 only. If the bank charges 11% interest, after how long must Maine pay her
obligation?
4. How much will Luz have to pay to a bank after 4 years if she borrows P150000 at
8% compounded quarterly?
5. Mr. Lodingnayab borrows a certain amount from the bank at the rate of 10%
compounded monthly. Then he forgets about the debt. After five and a half year, he
checks and is surprised that his debt is now worth 15 million pesos. How much did
he borrow from the bank before?
