1) Open the Tally configuration file and disable default company, user TDL, load buffering, and sounds. Set the screen resolution to 1024x768 at 32-bit color. Remove unnecessary printer drivers and delete temporary files. 2) Increase the virtual memory and disable Tally beeps. In auto backup, specify a new folder location for the backup file. Delete or move the TABK file from the company folder. 3) Delete empty .tsf files from the company folder, then rewrite the company without backup to resolve issues. Give firewall exceptions to .900 files and check for sufficient RAM, closed applications, and increased virtual memory.

Data Performance

Kindly Follow the below checklist after taking Data backup.

1) Open the Tally folder > open the (Tally.ini / Tally configuration Settings) file and
set the following parameters as shown: set Default Company = No and User Tdl =
No, Load Buffering=No, Sound= No then save the note pad and close it.

2) Check the screen resolution (It has to be set to 1024 by 768 pixels with normal DPI
settings. Colour quality must be set to Highest 32 Bit).

3) Remove unnecessary printer drivers from the printer and faxes, delete all the
temporary files, and printer pending (stop the print spooler).
To Stop Print spooler, i.e., Right Click on My Computer >> Manage >> Services and
applications >> Services >> Right Click on Print Spooler and Stop the Print spooler.

4) Increase the virtual memory of the drive in which Tally is installed. Go to My

Computer > Properties > click on Advanced > then click on settings in Visual affects,
processor scheduling, memory usage and virtual memory. Then again click on
Advanced > Change, and increase the virtual memory.

5) Gateway Of Tally / Company Info >> Press F12 >> General >> Tally Alters using
beeps = no.

6) In case if you have enabled Auto back up then, Create a new folder and in
(Gateway Of Tally / Company Info >> Press F12 >> Data configuration >> Location
of Auto Backup File) give the new folder path in that location. And after that from the
company folder delete the (TABK) file or cut that file (TABK) and paste the file to the
different location.
Note: not for 5X release.

7) Open the company folder and delete the 0 KB and 1 KB .tsf files present inside the
company folder. Then open Tally (do not select any company) from the Company
Info screen press Ctrl+Alt+R for simple rewrite and it will ask for company, Kindly
select the particular Company (in which you have deleted those .tsf files) and
rewrite by making Yes, and for back up before rewrite make it as No.

8) Give exceptions to .900 files in the windows firewall and antivirus.

9) RAM: Please check whether there is enough memory in your computer.

More memory is required if a command is executed on huge data (i.e., if the data is
huge). Thereby, suggesting you to increase in the size of RAM.

10) Other Applications open: Close all other applications if they are open (at the
desktop), as this will reduce the system resource.

11) Virtual Memory: Increasing this could also help in enhancing the performance.
[Note: Please consult your system administrator and confirm whether this could help
in overcoming the above difficulty]
12) CPU Usage: Check the CPU usage (i.e., Task Manager > Performance > CPU
usage).

13) Virus: There are chances that system is infected from virus, since there are
a few viruses that consume memories also. A scan with the latest anti-virus software
is recommended. We suggest you to scan the virus in machine.

14) If the data size is more, then take data backup and split the company for the
financial years. Finalize the company books of accounts then split the company data.

15) After following the above steps, if the problem persists, kindly delete Internet
Temporary files from the Internet explorer and Internet options, and delete the
history.
